Following the huge success of The Rocky Horror Show 40th Anniversary Production at the King's Theatre Glasgow in February and March 2013, the production is triumphantly returning between today, 6 - 10 August 2013 as part of its year-long run. Dani Harmer, finalist of Strictly Come Dancing 2012 and star of Tracy Beaker, will play the role of Janet. Ben Forster, who won the ITV1 series Superstar and then went on to play the lead in Jesus Christ Superstar, will star alongside Dani in the role of Brad. West End actor Oliver Thornton, follows in the footsteps of Tim Curry starring as the lead character of Frank 'n' Furter. Christopher Luscombe, who is the director of The Rocky Horror Show 40th Anniversary production, will play the role of the Narrator in his first acting role for over a decade.

Rocky Horror is a 1973(London)/74(LA)/75(Broadway) sendup of early sci fi, class B horror films and offers a curiously appealing view of some gay and wildly campy transgender lifestyles. Fans dress up as Rocky, Dr. Scott, Frank 'n' Furter and the Phantoms and scream obscenities and corny comments at the characters on stage. They also cover their heads with newspapers to avoid the rain, wave flashlights back and forth and move instep to 'The Time Warp' in the aisles. It was 1977 midnight showings of the film that started this audience participation trend, which shows no signs of stopping.

The Old Globe today announced that James Vásquez will direct the theater's upcoming revival of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show. Vásquez replaces the previously announced Oanh Nguyen, who has departed the production due to artistic differences.

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced that Matt McGrath will appear in the role of Frank ‘N' Furter in The Old Globe's upcoming production of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show. McGrath appeared on Broadway as the Emcee in Sam Mendes' hit revival of Cabaret and in the international tour of Tom Waits and William S. Burroughs' The Black Rider: The Casting of the Magic Bullets directed by Robert Wilson. He has also appeared Off Broadway in Hedwig and the Angry Itch and A Fair Country at Lincoln Center Theater. McGrath replaces the previously announced James Barbour, who has departed the production.
