Black Ensemble Theater announces Ain't No Crying the Blues (In The Memory of Howlin Wolf), written by Black Ensemble Theater Founder and CEO Jackie Taylor, directed by Associate Director Rueben Echoles, and starring Rick Stone, one of the stars of the classic movie Cooley High. Ain't No Crying the Blues will be presented at the new Black Ensemble Theater Cultural Center, 4450 N. Clark Street in Chicago, tonight, June 1 - August 11, 2013. The official press opening is scheduled for Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 3:00PM.

It's been said that perception is reality. While I completely agree with the statement, it is cause for one major question. Whose perception is reality? Where some of us may see empty air, others may see a 6 foot 3 ½ white rabbit. This odd and puzzling philosophical question is at the core of Harvey, the 1945 Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy by Mary Chase. The farce, now playing at Zach's Topfer Theatre, tackles this question, albeit with far more humor and wackiness than you'd ever find in a collegiate philosophy class.

Cleveland Play House (CPH) will host their 17th Hall of Fame Luncheon on Tuesday, May 14th in the Allen Theatre at PlayhouseSquare. This year's honorees have contributed to the success of CPH through many different avenues, and their professional accomplishments have accentuated CPH's proud history. This year's recipients include Dorothy and Frank Draz, Dee Hoty, Barclay Leathem and Jack Weston. Also being recognized is The Women's Committee of Cleveland Play House, which will be presented with the Heritage Award by Roe Green for their contributions to CPH.
