To raise the final funds needed for their fall productions of Claire and Paul Sifton's 1931- (The Living Theatre, Oct 4-21) and Dawn Powell's Big Night (Shetler Studios, Nov 28th-Dec 3rd), the ReGroup Theatre is receiving a 2.5 hr tutored wine tasting event thrown by the Moore Brother Wine Company tonight, Sept 5th, 2012. The event will be held at the Moore Brothers, 33 E 20th St, NYC from 6-8:30. After a successful run this past winter with the Keen Company at the Clurman Theater / Theater Row, Jonathan Hogan and Ron Holgate will reprise their roles in Heroes, by Gerald Sibleyras with a translation by Tom Stoppard and directed by Carl Forsman with the Merrimack Repertory Theatre Company. They will be joined by Ken Tigar, who will be playing the role previously performed by Broadway vet John Cullum in the Theater Row premiere. The production at the Merrick Theatre will run from November 19 through December 13.

The producers of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES announced today that legendary Broadway star Robert Goulet is confirmed to join the cast of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES. The Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award winning actor will replace Daniel Davis in the role of Georges mid-April (exact date TBD) at Broadway's Marquis Theatre. Understudy John Hillner will assume the role for the interim performances.

In Thunder Rock, successful author and former Daily News reporter David Charleston becomes disturbed by the state of the world; he takes a job as a lighthouse keeper and the sole resident of Thunder Rock Island. When he notices a memorial plaque dedicated to a sailing ship of immigrants which fatally crashed on the island 90 years prior, he starts to imagine how ideal life was in their time. Soon, they begin appearing to him. At first he controls them, until they decide to teach him about the eternal struggles of life.
