A HAPPY END by Israeli playwright Iddo Netanyahu is the story of a well-to-do, well-integrated Jewish couple in 1932 Berlin deciding whether to remain in Germany or to flee to America.  The production dramatizes a dilemma -- whether to leave home, family and friends for an uncertain future in a foreign land, or stay, hoping the situation will improve -- that has been shared and faced by thousands of emigres.

Authors Robert and Isabel Phillips live a 10 minute drive from Aberdeen harbor. They both enjoy the boats going out into the North Sea each day. Pandora Productions has been presenting plays and musicals that speak to the LGBTQ community for over 20 years but in the 2015-2016 season she will step outside the comfortable 'box' to present a Tony award winning musical by a gay composer but without the usual LBGTQ themes. The North Carolina Symphony, led by guest conductor Karina Canellakis, will perform a two-night Russian Festival that features two different programs of some of classical music's greatest works at the 2015 Rex Healthcare Summerfest Series today, June 12 and Saturday June 13, at 7:30 p.m. at Cary's Booth Amphitheatre. Gates open for the concert series at 5:30 p.m. Children 12 and under are free on the lawn.
