Authors Robert and Isabel Phillips live a 10 minute drive from Aberdeen harbor. They both enjoy the boats going out into the North Sea each day. One late evening, they noticed a seagull sound asleep on the deck of a boat heading out to sea. They often thought of this seagull and hoped it would come home safely. This seagull became their inspiration in writing "Tammy the Seagull: His Magical Adventure in the North East of Scotland" (published by AuthorHouse UK).

This book tells the story of Tammy, a young seagull that did not listen to his parent's advice when they told him not to fly over the harbor because of the existence of Vara, a sea monster that loves to eat seagulls. Tammy flies over the harbor to look at the boats. Little did he know, it will mark the beginning of his long, exciting but dangerous adventure on a boat, over the sea and into a far away land.

"This is an exciting, easy-to-read book that includes beautiful pictures," the authors say. "It is a modern day story that will remind children to always listen to their parent's advice."

Through the publication of "Tammy the Seagull," the author's hope children will be reminded of the true value of an elderly advice, especially if it comes from someone who only wants what is best for them.
