Rubicon Theatre continues the company's 16th Not Your Typical Season with a special run of Love, Loss, and What I Wore -- a witty and wise celebration of womanhood adapted by Nora and Delia Ephron, creators of such hits as 'When Harry Met Sally,' 'Sleepless in Seattle,' 'You've Got Mail,' 'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants' and 'Silkwood.'

Pacific Northwest Ballet continues its 2013-2014 season with George Balanchine's A Midsummer Night's Dream. A complete delight for all ages, this full-length ballet is based on William Shakespeare's comedy about the romantic adventures, quarrels and reunions of two pairs of mortal lovers and the king and queen of the fairies. Balanchine's Midsummer, which New York City Ballet premiered in 1962, was the first original evening-length ballet he choreographed in America. Staged by PNB Founding Artistic Director Francia Russell, PNB's production is an enchanted landscape where misunderstandings and mayhem weave tangled paths through the opulent layers of Martin Pakledinaz's designs and Balanchine's marvelously crafted partnerings. All ends well in Act II's wedding festivities with the recognition of ideal love, tenderly portrayed in an exquisite pas de deux. Smokey Joe's Cafe-The Songs of Leiber and Stoller transports audiences to the golden age of rock, rhythm and blues this spring at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. Director Randy Johnson returns to Arena Stage following the success of A Night with Janis Joplin (which enjoyed two runs at Arena Stage followed by a subsequent run on Broadway) to helm this Grammy Award-winning tribute to legendary songwriting duo Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, which originally opened on Broadway in 1995 and became the longest running musical revue, topping 2,000 performances. Bursting with hit tunes including 'Hound Dog,' 'Jailhouse Rock,' 'Stand by Me,' 'Love Potion #9' and 'On Broadway,' Smokey Joe's Cafe showcases choreography by Parker Esse (Arena Stage's The Music Man, Oklahoma!) and music direction by Victor Simonson (Center Stage's A Civil War Christmas, Arena Stage's 3 Mo' Divas) and runs April 25-June 8, 2014 in the Fichandler Stage.

This just in! New York City Center's acclaimed Encores! Off-Center series, under the artistic direction of Jeanine Tesori, will return this summer for a second season of landmark Off-Broadway musicals. The season opens with Jonathan Larson's tick, tick… BOOM!, June 25 - 28, starring Lin-Manuel Miranda and Karen Olivo, directed by Oliver Butler, and continues with a one-night only performance of Randy Newman'sFaust: The Concert, with Randy Newman as the Devil, directed by Thomas Kail, on July 1. Pump Boys and Dinettes, withbook, music and lyrics by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann , directed by Lear deBessonet and choreographed by Danny Mefford, wraps up the season, running July 16 - 19. The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre's 2014 Season-opener of Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic The Sound of Music has been enchanting audiences since it opened on January 17th, kicking off the theatre's 20th Anniversary Platinum Season. On Sunday, March 2nd, Way Off Broadway will be offering a special Sing-A-Long performance of the show where the audience will be encouraged to sing the songs along with the cast.

With the opening of The Children's Theatre at Way Off Broadway's 2014 Season, Bill Kiska, Way Off Broadway's Executive Producer, has also announced a change in the line-up of shows. The newly released stage production, Disney's Peter Pan Jr., will now make its area debut at Way Off Broadway beginning April 26, 2014. The Children's Theatre at Way Off Broadway has been a part of The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre, a leader in the region's theater community and one of the area's premiere entertainment venues, since 1996 when it opened with an original production of Sleep Beauty. That was the beginning of what would become one of the most popular family entertainment spots in Frederick. To this day, the Children's Theatre at Way Off Broadway is the area's only children's lunch theater, offering a family-friendly meal before each show.

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre launched its Children Theatre in 1996. Since then, no show has ever been as popular as the smash hit Pinkalicious - The Musical. When the fun, family friendly first appeared on the Children's Theatre stage, it was to open the 2012 Season. The production quickly sold out. When the run was briefly expanded, those performances also sold out. Beginning tonight, September 14, Pinkalicious will return to the Children's Theatre at Way Off Broadway, back by overwhelming demand!

As BroadwayWorld previously announced, a new musical inspired by the work of Tupac Shakur, titled HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME, is on its way to Broadway. Directed by Kenny Leon (A Raisin in the Sun [2004], Fences [2010] The Mountaintop), the project is planned for a Broadway production in the 2013-2014 season, subject to theatre availability.

Pinkalicious - The Musical, which will run from September 14 - November 2, 2013, is the tale, based on the popular book by Victoria Kann and Elizabeth Kann, of Pinkalicious, who can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe - a dream come true for this pink loving enthusiast. But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious can figure out a way to get out of this pink predicament.

The Dee Buchanan Studio of Dance and The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre and Children's Theatre are teaming up to present a free benefit concert, A Magical Musical Adventure, tonight, July 2, 2013, at 7 pm, on the Knight Stage at Middletown High School. Twenty-eight local dancers ranging in age from 4 to 18 will perform together to raise money for TJ Rufty. The concert features many well-loved fairy tale characters and includes a variety of song-and-dance styles. There is no charge for admission. Free-will donations will be accepted at the door. During intermission a basket raffle will be held, which includes donations from many Middletown merchants in an effort to further help TJ.
