'I'll Go On' by Samuel Beckett opens Sunday, January 12, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. at the Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre. Previews of the Gate Theatre production are January 10 and 11. A celebrated interpreter of Beckett, Barry McGovern is known to Los Angeles audiences for his performance as Vladimir in the acclaimed 2012 production of 'Waiting for Godot' at the Mark Taper Forum (LADCC Awards, Best Revival and Best Ensemble; Ovation Award Best Production and Best Ensemble).

New Brooklyn Theater has announced casting today for its site-specific production of Edward Albee's The Death of Bessie Smith at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn. This rare revival will run for eight performances between January 9 and 19, 2014. Each performance will be followed by talkbacks or panel discussions with leaders in the arts, government, labor, and health. These discussions are intended to raise critical questions about health access, race, class, and the arts in New York.

Celebrated Beckett interpreter Barry McGovern returns to Center Theatre Group following his memorable performance in 2012 as Vladimir in the acclaimed production of 'Waiting for Godot' at the Mark Taper Forum (LADCC Awards, Best Revival and Best Ensemble; Ovation Award Best Production and Best Ensemble). For the first time in Los Angeles, McGovern will perform in his tour-de-force, one-man show, 'I'll Go On' by Samuel Beckett in the Gate Theatre production presented at the Kirk Douglas Theatre, January 10 through February 9, 2014. The opening is set for January 12.

Pasadena Symphony Association President Diane Rankin and Chief Executive Officer Paul Jan Zdunek today announced the extension of Principal Pops Conductor Michael Feinstein's contract through 2016. His current contract was for a 1-year term, but fresh off the heels with rave reviews for his conducting debut to capacity crowds on June 1st, the leadership of the Pasadena Symphony Association immediately offered Feinstein a multi-year contract extension. The decision represents a confident commitment to Feinstein and support for his vision for the Pasadena POPS Summer Concert Series at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden.

Lincoln Center Festival, which runs from today, July 6 through 28, 2013 will unfold in six venues on and off the Lincoln Center campus. Five factory workers, dubbed the 'Radium Girls,' sued their employer after contracting life-threatening radium poisoning while painting watch dials with the glow-in-the-dark substance. Playwright Melanie Marnich focuses on four of the thousands of women who entered the work force for the first time in the 1920s, rejoicing in the opportunity to make money before finding their lives forever changed by unanticipated camaraderie and unforeseen deleterious effects.
