The January 6-14, 2012 installment of 14/48 marks the 15th year for this semi-annual theatre festival that was supposed to just be a one-time only fundraiser. Founded in November of 1997, 14/48: The World's Quickest Theater Festival now happens twice a year in Seattle to sell-out crowds.

ACT -A Contemporary Theatre announces its 2012 Mainstage play season-including three World Premieres and two Northwest Premieres - along with a house filled with new presentations from The Central Heating Lab at ACT, The Young Playwrights Program, and The Hansberry Project at ACT, several of which will take place in the new 49-seat Eulalie Scandiuzzi Space located just a few steps away from the Bullitt Cabaret.

ACT - A Contemporary Theatre opens summer with the World Premiere of Pilgrims Musa and Sheri in the New World by acclaimed local playwright Yussef El Guindi. The Central Heating Lab keeps things cooking with the debut of a new cabaret show by Seattle luminaries, Jayne Muirhead and John Engerman, It's In the Cards; the return of RAWSTOCK Short Film Festival with another installment of grindhouse favorites; and staged readings with the wildly popular Pinter Fortnightly series and TheFilmSchool's amazing-and amazingly free!-Caught in the ACT screenplay series. Short Stories Live brings the magic of fairy tales to Town Hall, while award-winning poets take to the stage in Copper Canyon's A Longing for Light. And it wouldn't be June without the return of The Hansberry Project's Juneteenth Celebration, featuring actress, playwright, director and activist Regina Taylor!

Public Theater Artistic Director Oskar Eustis announced the line-up today for The Public's 2011-2012 Season. Grammy and Emmy Award winner, Tony Award nominee and multi-platinum recording artist Harry Connick, Jr. will star in a reimagined production of ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER opening fall 2011 on Broadway at a theatre to be announced. The delightful Tony Award nominated score by Burton Lane (music) and Alan Jay Lerner (lyrics) is enhanced by classics from their film scores for On A Clear Day You Can See Forever (1970) and Royal Wedding (1951). With a new book by Peter Parnell based on the original book by Alan Jay Lerner, the musical is reconceived and directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer. Further casting and creative team to be announced shortly.
