KC Rep Sets 2015-16 Season: 'SUNDAY IN THE PARK,' 'ANNE FRANK' & More

Eric Rosen, Artistic Director of Kansas City Repertory Theatre has announced KC Rep's 2015-16 season, a diverse mix of cutting edge world premieres and re-imagined American classics. "With four world premieres balanced with three innovative stagings of American classics, it's among the most ambitious seasons the Rep has yet produced," Rosen said. "I'm particularly proud of a season that balances a collection of artists whose work is at the forefront of the American theater with stories that are powerful, moving, and deeply meaningful for our city and region."

Marin Alsop leads the BSO in a program of Viennese-inspired favorites, including Ravel's Valses nobles et sentimentales ("Noble and sentimental waltzes") and La Valse ("The Waltz"), Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier ("The Rose Cavalier") Suite, and Haydn's Cello Concerto, performed by Argentinean cellist Sol Gabetta, Friday, March 20 and Saturday, March 21 at 8 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and Sunday, March 22 at 3 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore. The Manhattan School of Music Opera Theater will be presenting Ernest Bloch's Macbeth on Wednesday, December 10 and Friday, December 12 at 7:30 pm.; and on Sunday, December 14 at 2:30 p.m. in the School's Borden Auditorium. Bloch's only opera, composed when the composer was in his early 20's, is set to a libretto by the composer's friend, the poet Edmond Fleg, after Shakespeare's play.
