Liz Gerring, the 2015 Jacob's Pillow Dance Award winner and artistic director of Liz Gerring Dance Company, returns to Jacob's Pillow for her company's performances of glacier, August 19-23 in the Doris Duke Theatre. Gerring has garnered praise by dance enthusiasts and critics alike for her abstract choreographic style and keen use of musical and visual elements.

FlynnArts Summer Youth Theater opened ONCE ON THIS ISLAND on Thursday, July 30 at the FlynnSpace at Burlington's Flynn Center for Performing Arts.

Orange County, Calif.—July 10, 2015—It is a night of spicy, riveting music and dance featuring salsa, Cuban rhythms and the sounds of Spain, when Pacific Symphony, led by Music Director Carl St.Clair, delivers the third concert of Summer Festival 2015. The evening is chock-full of hot-tempered tunes, including Ravel's “Bolero,” featuring the most famous drumbeat in classical music and immortalized in the movie “10”; Rimsky-Korsakov's sparkling orchestral painting of Spain, Capriccio Espagnol, full of passionate tunes and brilliant colors that have made it a smash-hit concert favorite; the short but potent “Ritual Fire Dance” from de Falla's ballet, “El amor brujo”; and excerpts from Bizet's alluring “Carmen,” sung by opera star, mezzo-soprano Milena Kiti?.  The band JT & Friends then delivers high-octane entertainment on the second half, which includes Bizet's “Farandole” from L'Arlesienne Suite No. 2 and Bernstein's heart-pumping “America” from the classic film, “West Side Story.” Completing the mix are dancers, Salsa king Bobby Rivas, singer Beau Williams, and music that includes Barry Mann's “On Broadway,” Flores' rowdy “Tequila” and more. 

From tonight, May 28 - June 7, 2015 Houston Ballet offers up a mixed repertory program titled Morris, Welch & Kylian featuring three of today's most dynamic and musical choreographers.

Entering its seventh season in 2015-16, CONTACT!, the Philharmonic's new-music series, will extend its reach across New York City through a new partnership with National Sawdust (formerly Original Music Workshop), a new, non-profit, state-of-the-art music venue opening in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, in October 2015.

From May 28 - June 7, 2015 Houston Ballet offers up a mixed repertory program titled Morris, Welch & Kylian featuring three of today's most dynamic and musical choreographers. A world premiere of The Letter V by acclaimed American choreographer Mark Morris, the world premiere of Stanton Welch's Zodiac and the revival of Ji?i Kylian's iconic Svadebka make this program a must-see for all ballet lovers. Zodiac is made possible through the generosity of Leticia Loya. Sundance Institute announced today the members of the six juries awarding prizes at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, January 22 to February 1 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah.

The Music Hall has announced its partnership with The District Restaurant to present this season's Singer Songwriters Series. This series highlights up and coming as well as established artists. From Carlene Carter's classic country tones to the slick afro-beats of Sinkane to the Ukranian folk-punk band Dakhabrakha this series will have something for everyone. Set in the Loft, patrons will experience these artists in a truly intimate setting.

Sigurd Jonny 'Sig' Hansen is an American Captain of the fishing vessel Northwestern. Sig Hansen knows more about fishing than just about anyone and will share his tales at The Ridgefield Playhouse tonight, September 13, at 7:30 p.m.

British stage, film and TV actor Donald Sinden has passed away at the age of 90 after suffering from prostate cancer

Earlier this summer, over 1,200 people lined up in Times Square to be filmed crawling across a green screen. Spanish artist Daniel Canogar captured the footage of their crawls and has edited it to be shown on the Square's spectacular billboards in September. The resulting film, titled Storming Times Square, will have its premiere on Times Square billboards September 1 and screened every night in September at 11:57 p.m. as part of the Midnight Moment, a monthly presentation of The Times Square Advertising Coalition (TSAC) and Times Square Arts. This month's presentation is in partnership with bitforms gallery.

From September 4-14, 2014, Houston Ballet launches its 45th season with the company premiere of John Neumeier's three-act ballet A Midsummer Night's Dream. The ballet is based on Shakespeare's lighthearted play of the same name and follows the hijinks and hilarity that ensues when a well-intentioned plan with a love potion goes awry. Created in 1977, A Midsummer Night's Dream has served as Mr. Neumeier's calling card, being seen as one of his most joyous and popular creations. Houston Ballet is the first American ballet company to perform the famous work and it is the first piece by Mr. Neumeier to enter the Houston Ballet repertoire.

Due to popular demand, Chippendales has announced that 'Sharknado' and '90210' star Ian Ziering will return to its show at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas as as a celebrity guest star from June 12 through July 19, 2014. Since joining the acclaimed Las Vegas production of Chippendales last summer, Ziering's career has skyrocketed with hits such as the SyFy 'People's Choice' nominated cult-film, 'Sharknado' and, the forthcoming 'Sharknado 2' set for release in July 2014. Pacific Symphony announces what is perhaps its most significant season to date for the 36-year-old orchestra-the 2014-15 Hal and Jeanette Segerstrom Family Foundation Classical Series and special events, celebrating Music Director Carl St. Clair's 25 years at the helm.
