Earlier today at a special event at The Box in Soho, Stephen Ward was launched with cast and creative team as well as VIP guest MAndy Rice-Davies. Opening in the West End later this year, Stephen Ward, which has music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and book and lyrics by playwright Christopher Hampton and lyricist Don Black, previews at the Aldwych Theatre from 3 December 2013 with press night on 19 December 2013. The production, directed by Richard Eyre, is currently booking to 1 March 2014. Set and Costume designs are by Rob Howell, with lighting by Peter Mumford, sound by Paul Groothuis, projection design by Jon Driscoll and choreography by Stephen Mear. Set in Paris during the 1960's Bernard (Patrick Sylvester) happily juggles life with the aid of his maid (Kate Ingram) as a swinging bachelor with three beautiful women. Bernard's friend, Robert (Eric Earley) comes to town, at the same time a new Boeing jet throws off all of Bernard's careful planning.

Dubbed the season of 'ART Inside the Box', the company has moved from Bittner Hall into the basement of 16 Linwood location and has converted it into a black box theater performance space. ART/WNY decision to move from Bittner Hall into this space allows the company more flexibility with productions scheduled for the 2013-14 season as well as allows ART/WNY more of a permenent presences in the space. 'We can build, create and light environments without the overhanging pressure to tear it down and reset the whole thing, from platforms to light grid, for each production.' Added Executive/Artistic Director Matthew LaChiusa. 'That's going to add to the production values of each piece as well as make it more of a engaging experience for patrons.'
