The hit West End musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, based on the book by Roald Dahl, and directed by Sam Mendes, is marking Roald Dahl Day on 13 September by releasing new pictures of the Oompa-Loompas on the loose at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Check them out below!

Producing Artistic Director Chuck Tobin today announced the July 1st opening of Jeffrey Hatcher's area premiere adaptation of Wait Until Dark, written by Frederick Knott at Saint Michael's Playhouse (tonight, July 1 - 11). Directed by Sarah Carleton the cast features Abby Lee as Susan, John D. Alexander as Roat, Christian Kohn as Mike, Bill Carmichael as Carlino, David Rossetti as Sam, and introducing Jillian Kenny as Gloria.

Roald Dahl's The Twits, directed by John Tiffany, is mischievously adapted from Roald Dahl's story. Enda Walsh turns The Twits upside down and brings this revolting revolution to the Royal Court's stage from tonight, April 7, through May 31, 2015.

In the coming months, Broadway will welcome a fresh crop of productions- many of which will mark the Broadway debuts for a slew of talented actors. Whether they are fresh faces or established stars, these Broadway babies will soon take their very first bows on some of the grandest stages in the world.

Academy Award winner Helen Mirren will return to Broadway this spring as Elizabeth II in Peter Morgan's The Audience, directed by two-time Tony Award winner Stephen Daldry. Directed by exciting young director Ola Ince, as part of Black History Month, the European premiere of Rachel opens at the multi award-winning Finborough Theatre for a four week limited season tonight, 30 September 2014 (Press Night: Thursday, 2 October at 7.30pm).

The Public Theater announced today that Todd Almond (Ariel), Laura Benanti (Goddess), Carson Elrod (Caliban), Jeff Hiller (Trinculo), Norm Lewis (Prospero), and Jacob Ming-Trent (Stephano) have been cast in the free, original musical adaptation of THE TEMPEST, part of The Public's groundbreaking new initiative for community-based theater, PUBLIC WORKS. Directed by Public Works Director Lear deBessonet, with music, lyrics and book by Almond, and choreography by Chase Brock, THE TEMPEST will run September 6 through September 8 at 8:00 p.m. at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park.

The Public Theater has announced a groundbreaking new initiative for community-based theater, PUBLIC WORKS, that is designed to cultivate new connections and new models of engagement with artists, audiences and the community each year. In its inaugural year, PUBLIC WORKS will create an extraordinary example of participatory theater with a free, original musical adaptation of THE TEMPEST at the Delacorte Theater, inspired by a 1916 community theatrical event of Caliban by the Yellow Sands at the stadium at City College in New York.

Cygnus Ensemble presents Milton Babbitt and the 21st Century, a special evening of performances to honorone of our most brilliant musical minds, the late Milton Babbitt. The concert will feature Babbitt's SwanSong No. 1, world premieres and a recent piece by four generations of Babbitt protégés, each 15 to 20 years apart in age: Peter Westergaard, Frank Brickle, Jonathan Dawe and David Fulmer. Sopranos Elizabeth Farnum and Tony Arnold will be the featured guest artists. Cygnus had planned this as a 95th birthday concert for Milton since the fall of 2009. While sadly the concert has become a memorial event rather than a birthday celebration, Cygnus shall convey the continuing vitality and relevance of Babbitt's work as we move into the heart of the 21st Century. Babbitt's legacy as composer and educator endures, eliciting undaunted courage and creativity amongst his students and emboldening them to passion and excellence in their pursuits. Milton Babbitt and the 21st Century complements two earlier Cygnus presentations that focused on Babbitt, concerts honoring his 80th and 90th birthdays. His 90th celebration was held at Merkin Hall and was entitled Milton Babbitt at the Crux of the 20th Century, including earlier Babbitt works, from the 1940s. The notes from that event are archived on the Cygnus website.
