Join us in May for our spring 2011 production of The Secret Garden! Nominated for the 1991 Tony Awards for Best Musical and Best Score and originally starring Mandy Patinkin, The Secret Garden is based on the beloved children's book by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Orphaned in India, 11 year old Mary Lennox returns to Yorkshire to live with her embittered, reclusive Uncle Archibald and his invalid son Colin on his estate. Hidden within the grounds is a neglected garden, which beckons Mary with its haunting melodies and spirits from the family's past. As Mary and the children work with the earth to bring the garden back to life, its beauty and bounty are restored and the healing power of nature brings forth forgiveness, love, and renewal.

Twitter has provided the means for celebrities of all types to communicate with their fans in an intimate way -- one on one -- without needing to be face to face. It's wonderful how many of them have embraced the medium, and used it to let us into their worlds. It's even better when they reach out to thank us for our support, respond to questions, or engage in conversation. 140 characters at a time, I've developed a whole new set of online friends who are all on Broadway. The acknowledgement of us 'little people' makes me appreciate them in a bigger way, and makes me want to support them onstage in everything they do.

This new production of The Secret Garden comes to us from The Festival Theatre in Edinburgh. A tighter, more effective first act is a decided improvement, and though the show remains somewhat problematic, it will entertain and delight your inner child.
