The Phantom of the Opera is (still) there! Today marks the 31st birthday of the landmark musical, The Phantom of the Opera, which opened in London on October 9, 1986. The show continues performances at Her Majesty's Theatre today and in a recording-breaking run at the Majestic Theatre on Broadway and many other cities around the world.

Ben Lewis's past work includes Forbidden Broadway and Candide at Menier Chocolate Factory, Annie Get Your Gun at Sheffield Crucible, and playing The Phantom in the original Australian production of Love Never Dies. He's now donning the mask again to lead the West End production of Phantom of the Opera.

As the musical heads into its 32nd year, the producers have just announced key cast changes for "THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA". Joining the cast from 4 September are Ben Lewis who will play the title role of 'The Phantom', Kelly Mathieson as 'Christine Daae' and Jeremey Taylor as 'Raoul'. Joining them is Amy Manford as the alternate 'Christine Daae',

Ben Forster became a household name when he won Andrew Lloyd Webber's Superstar TV competition and went on to lead the UK arena tour of Jesus Christ Superstar. His West End work includes Evita and Elf: The Musical, and he's currently starring as the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera, which recently celebrated its 30th anniversary.

As reported by BroadwayWorld, the West End production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera recently made history on its 30th anniversary as the first production to broadcast directly to Facebook from a West End stage. On October 18th, fans have the chance to meet original Phantom, Michael Crawford, and see him chat with Neil Sean about his most iconic role, along with past projects and the upcoming The Go Between.

Sion Lloyd joins the 30th anniversary cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera in the role of Monsieur Firmin, beginning tonight. His past credits include Titanic (Charing Cross Theatre), Miss Atomic Bomb (St James Theatre), The Pajama Game (Shaftesbury Theatre), Avenue Q (Noel Coward Theatre) and the touring production of The Bodyguard.

Today, the cast of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA performed 'Masquerade,' as well as the title song, featuring Lisa-Anne Wood as Christine, and Ben Forster, Scott Davies, Peter Lockyer and Jeremy Secomb sharing the role of the Phantom.
