The New 42nd Street Gala, in celebration of the New Victory Education Programs, honored the Australia Council for the Arts with the New Victory Arts Award lst night, December 5, 2012. The annual event featured a special performance by the Melbourne-based Australian troupe Circus Oz at The New Victory Theater, followed by a dinner reception at The Liberty Theater. Cirque du Soleil will return to New York this coming spring with an all-new big top production TOTEM. Written and directed by internationally-acclaimed director Robert Lepage, TOTEM will begin performances Thursday, March 14, 2013 for a limited engagement under the blue-and-yellow Big Top at its new location Citi Field (Lot C), home of the New York Mets. South Coast Repertory will open its 2009-2010 season with a celebration of the music of Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim and will shine the spotlight later in the season on the up-and-coming musical theater composer and lyricist, Adam Gwon. The season lineup includes World Premieres by Bathsheba Doran, Julie Marie Myatt and Howard Korder, and a West Coast Premiere by Noah Haidle.
