Theatre Raymond Kabbaz (TRK) is proud to present the West Coast Premiere of Moliere malgre moi (Moliere in Spite of Myself), a one-man show starring French actor Francis Perrin, tonight, October 8, 2014. Famous for playing such characters as Scapin, Alceste, and Philinte at the Comedie Francaise, Perrin's performance will lead the audience through Moliere's life and career, linking his plays to his personal life, and presenting short sequences from Moliere's best known creations. The play will be presented in French with projected English subtitles.

The Old Globe will present a one-night-only event, Barry Edelstein In Conversation with Nathan Englander, on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. This special discussion will reunite Old Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein and award-winning playwright and novelist Nathan Englander, whose play The Twenty-seventh Man, about a group of writers imprisoned in Soviet Russia under mysterious circumstances, makes its West Coast premiere at The Old Globe in February, directed once again by Edelstein. The event will explore the evolution of the play; its fascinating historical setting; Englander's work in fiction versus theatre; and literature's place in modern American culture.

Directed by MTC's artistic director Jasson Minadakis, this 'enchanted and enchanting' play about love and loss will feature five actors playing multiple characters, using puppets and playing live music both original (by MTC's frequent collaborator Chris Houston, a Berkeley-based composer and musician) and from the era of the play - 1920s Chicago.

The French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF), New York's premiere French cultural center, is thrilled to welcome renowned French stage actor Nicolas Bouchaud for the U.S. premiere of The Exercise Was Beneficial, Sir (La Loi du marcheur) directed by Eric Didry tonight, May 21 and Thursday, May 22 in FIAF's Florence Gould Hall. The performance is presented in conjunction with a special CineSalon series at FIAF celebrating the Cahiers du Cinema in May and June.
