Red Bull Theater today announced that Derek Smith would join the cast for the American Premiere of a new adaptation of August Strindberg's The Dance of Death by Mike Poulton (Tony Award Nominee for Best Play for Fortune's Fool), directed by Joseph Hardy (Tony Award winner for Best Director for Child's Play).

Opening Night is set for Thursday April 18th.

Asolo Repertory Theatre is pleased to announce that Venus in Fur by David Ives will complete the line-up for its 2012-2013 season. The production will be staged in the Historic Asolo Theater April 5-28, 2013 with preview performances April 3th and 4th.

In response to the CPS teachers' strike, Court Theatre is offering a special free performance of August Wilson's Jitney, directed by Resident Artist Ron OJ Parson, for any CPS student (and one parent/guardian) with a valid CPS ID. This free matinee will be Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 10:30am at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Avenue. There is no need to RSVP, simply present a valid CPS ID at the theatre.

George Street Playhouse has announced that VENUS IN FUR by David Ives will complete the line-up for the 2012-13 season. The theatre's spring production, which had previously been unannounced, will run from April 23 through May 18. Opening Night will be on Friday, April 26.

Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced that Tony® Award winner Douglas Hodge will star in a new Broadway production of Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand, with a translation by Ranjit Bolt and directed by Jamie Lloyd.
Cyrano de Bergerac will begin previews on September 14, 2012 and open officially on October 11, 2012 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd Street). This will be a limited engagement through November 25, 2012. The full cast & design team will be announced soon.

Court Theatre today announced its 2012/13 season under the continuing leadership of Artistic Director Charles Newell, Executive Director Stephen J. Albert, Board Chair Virginia Gerst and Deputy Provost of the Arts Larry Norman. The company's 58th season will feature August Wilson's Jitney, directed by Resident Artist Ron OJ Parson; a reimagining of James Joyce's The Deaddirected by Artistic Director Charles Newell with Musical Direction by Doug Peck; David Hare's Skylight directed by William Brown in his Court Theatre debut; and University of Chicago alumnus David Auburn's Proof, also directed by Charles Newell. Newell will close the season by returning to the world of French Baroque with Moliere's The Misanthrope, followed by Tartuffe.

Platt and Scott Landis, will produce the Broadway premiere of VENUS IN FUR, the play by David Ives directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie featuring Tony Award nominee Nina Arianda reprising her acclaimed breakthrough performance.
