The Public Theater announced complete casting today for the New York Premiere of PARTY PEOPLE by UNIVERSES (Steven Sapp, Mildred Ruiz-Sapp, and William Ruiz a.k.a Ninja. Developed and directed by Liesl Tommy with choreography by Millicent Johnnie, PARTY PEOPLE begins performances on Tuesday, November 1 and runs through Sunday, December 4, with an official press opening on Tuesday, November 15.

The Metropolitan Opera will open its 132nd season, the 50th anniversary of its iconic Lincoln Center home, on Monday, September 26 with a new production of Wagner's epic tragedy Tristan und Isolde.

Classic Stage Company welcomes Emmy Award-nominee and Golden Globe-winner Anthony Edwards ('ER'), Annabella Sciorra ('The Sopranos') and Tony Award-winner Elizabeth Franz (Death of A Salesman, Brighton Beach Memoirs), alongside Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister on HBO's Game of Thrones) and Taylor Schilling (Piper Chapman on Netflix's Orange Is The New Black) in Ivan Turgenev's A Month in the Country, opening at CSC (136 East 13th Street) tonight, January 29, for a limited engagement through Sunday, February 22.

Shattered glass. Upon entering the playing space inside of Bartell Theatre, audiences are confronted with shadowy lights, created by the gobos, that very closely resemble shattered glass. Or, perhaps, razor blades - but who can tell? That's the point of Erik Gernand's play The Beautiful Dark - every person's view is resoundingly different.

Beginning January 26, the Met will present a double-bill of two rarely performed one-act operas: Tchaikovsky's romantic fairy tale Iolanta, with Anna Netrebko in the title role of a blind princess and Piotr Beczala as Count Vaudémont, a knight who loves her; and Bartók's harrowing Bluebeard's Castle, with Nadja Michael as a bride who discovers the terrifying truth about her new husband, sung by Mikhail Petrenko. Valery Gergiev returns to the Met to conduct both operas, which will be presented in a production by acclaimed Polish director Mariusz Treli?ski in his Met debut. This season's performances will be the company premiere of Iolanta, Tchaikovsky's final opera, and the Met's first-ever staged performances of Bluebeard's Castle in the original Hungarian. The February 14 matinee performance will be transmitted worldwide as part of the Met's Live in HD series, which now reaches more than 2,000 movie theaters in 69 countries around the world.

This fall, 10 teams of talented performers will set out to wow viewers like never before in truTV's amazing new competition series Fake Off. Set to premiere tonight, Oct. 27, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT) as part of truTV's extensive new slate of shows, FAKE OFF will take viewers into the visually stunning world of faking, a mix of theater, acrobatics, black light and illusion.
