The Light Princess - 2013 - West End

The National Theatre will present Tori Amos' adaptation of THE LIGHT PRINCESS in 2013.

The Ligt Princess is a musical adaptation of the George MacDonald fairy tale of the same name. It was previously scheduled to debut in spring 2012 but was later postponed.

Tori Amos' new musical, THE LIGHT PRINCESS, is currently playing at The National Theatre. It features Rosalie Craig as Althea, Amy Booth-Steel as Piper, Nick Hendrix as Digby, David Langham as Flowers, Hal Fowler as King Ignacio, Ben Thompson as Zephyrus, and Kane Oliver Parry as Llewelyn. Songwriter Tori Amos and playwright Samuel Adamson teamed up with director Marianne Elliot to bring a new musical to the stage. After five years, The Light Princess has come to the National Theatre. The musical opened last night, Oct 9, starring Rosalie Craig as Princess Athea. The Light Princess also stars Amy Booth-Steel as Piper, Nick Hendrix as Prince Digby, David Langham as Flowers, Hal Fowler as King Ignacio, Ben Thompson as Zephyrus, and Kane Oliver Parry as Llewelyn. The Light Princess was designed by Rae Smith, who also desgined War Horse.

According to reports, Tori Amos' musical, THE LIGHT PRINCESS, which was previously postponed and set to play the Lyttelton Theatre this year, will now play the National Theatre at the end of 2013.

According to the BBC, Tori Amos will soon bring her new musical, The Light Princess, to the stage. The show will premiere at the National Theatre in 2013. She told BBC: 'If the fairies are with us, I'd like to say that before the end of 2013 it will be playing at the National.'
