The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) and the Cincinnati Pops announced highly-anticipated international tours to Asia in March of 2017 with six performances in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Taiwan, as well as the CSO undertaking an extensive, eleven-concert tour across Europe over three weeks in August and September.

The Menier Chocolate Factory today announces the full company for a major new revival of Tom Stoppard's TRAVESTIES - the first London revival in over 20 years. Patrick Marber directs Clare Foster (Cecily), Freddie Fox (Tristan Tzara), Tom Hollander (Henry Carr), Forbes Masson (Lenin), Peter McDonald (James Joyce), Amy Morgan (Gwendolen), Sarah Quist (Nadya) and Tim Wallers (Bennett). The production - which opens on 4 October, with previews from 22 September and runs until 19 November - is now completely sold out, breaking Menier box office records by becoming the first play to sell out ahead of its opening in the theatre's history.

At the Summer 2016 Television Critics Association press tour today, PBS and American Experience announced that THE GREAT WALL, a six-hour, three-night event, will premiere in April 2017

HERE has announced its 2016-2017 producing season, featuring three HERE Resident Artist world premieres, two international presentations from HERE's renowned Dream Music Puppetry Program, the fifth annual PROTOTYPE: Opera/Theatre/Now festival, and HERE's yearly CULTUREMART festival, where HERE serves up a first look at new work in process from artists in the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP).

A widowed New York college professor, Gene, is in a long distance relationship with a woman in California. He wants to marry and move to California, where his girlfriend has her medical practice and is raising her children. Gene's mother is sympathetic although aware of the toll it could take on his father. Family tensions arise as his father disowned his sister for marrying a Jewish man. When his mother suddenly dies, Gene's plans are thrown into disarray. He has lived in the shadow of his towering father, who is expecting him to stay and watch over him. Gene must decide for himself if he'll stay to care for his father or finally move on with his life.

Former astronaut and author Buzz Aldrin will discuss and sign his newest book, 'No Dream is Too High: Life Lessons from a Man Who Walked on the Moon,' on Monday, April 18 at 7 p.m. at the Kissimmee Books-A-Million, located at 2605 West Osceola Parkway. Theatr Clwyd Artistic Director Tamara Harvey today announces the full casting for Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac which also features new Welsh poetry from Twm Morys. Steffan Rhodri leads the all-Welsh company in the role of Cyrano, with Sara Lloyd-Gregory as Roxanne and Marc Rhys as Christian, alongside Wayne Cater, Steven Elliott, Victoria John, Rhys Parry Jones, Daniel Llewelyn-Williams, Gwawr Loader, Sion Pritchard, Aled Pugh, Simon Holland Roberts and Dafydd Llyr Thomas.

?The Cathedral of St. John the Divine, in collaboration with the Manhattan School of Music and Oratorio Society of New York, presents the world premiere of a transcription for organ, vocal soloists, and choruses, of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 8, on Thursday, April 7th, at 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street), Manhattan. This event follows the two performances of the symphony in its original orchestration at the Cathedral on February 24th and 25th.

In creating a theater piece about Mata Hari, the Dutch-born actress Eva Dorrepaal (www.evadorrepaal.com) found that she shared one quality with the infamous World War I-era spy:  an addiction to dangerous love.  The truth is, you could probably find more similarities if you dig farther, but this is the idea behind her solo show, 'Almost Mata Hari - Lovers, Letters and Killers,' whose premiere run will be presented by Theater for the New City January 7 to 24.
