This month, the Museum of Arts and Design is pleased to present The Director Must Not Be Credited: 20 Years of Dogme 95, a cinema series exploring the enduring legacy of the game-changing film movement. Premiering tonight, March 13, 2015, the twentieth anniversary of Danish filmmakers Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg's revolutionary manifesto, the series features nine, rarely screened films recognized by the Dogme 95 committee --many of which never received US distributions. Together, these films highlight the growth of Dogme 95 into a worldwide movement that spanned genres and forever changed the ways in which narrative feature films are made.

Producers Lorenzo Thione and Andrew Treagus announced today that Tony Award winner Lea Salonga and Telly Leung will co-star with George Takei in Allegiance, a new American musical, set to open on Broadway next season at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street).

On Saturday, March 21, Music Director LARRY RACHLEFF and the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra welcome mezzo-soprano SUSAN LORETTE DUNN back to The VETS for a performance of Kurt Weill's Cabaret Songs. The concert program also features Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances and Dvo?ák's Carnival Overture. Jane S. Nelson is Concert Sponsor. At a press conference held at Barrington Stage Company's Boyd-Quinson Mainstage, Artistic Director Julianne Boyd announced the theatre's 2015 season of musicals and plays that will take place in Downtown Pittsfield in the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage, St. Germain Stage and Youth Theatre venues.

Actor Sonja Parks embodies the eleven distinct voices of Gibb Street in this enthralling, one-woman production, directed by Peter C. Brosius. Seedfolks runs today, September 30 - November 16, 2014 on the Cargill Stage.

Artists at Play presents the Los Angeles premiere of 99 Histories, a poignant drama exploring the themes of family, generational and cultural differences, and history through the relationship between a Korean immigrant mother and her American-born daughter. Opening tonight, September 13, 2014, the play is written by Julia Cho, and directed by Leslie Ishii.

Mortal Folly Theatre will present the premiere of award-winning playwright Meron Langsner's Over Here as part of the 2014 New York International Fringe Festival. The play focuses on the unlikely friendship that forms between an Israeli immigrant and a Palestinian-American in NYC in the aftermath of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Although the events of the piece take place in 2002, the subject matter remains highly topical today, especially in regards to current events. The writer states,

An earthquake romance. A genre-defying song play. The show aims to take the usually isolated experience of watching YouTube videos and turns it into a public experience. Artists will respond to YouTube clips on the theme of mother through dance, theater, music, storytelling, and audience interaction.
