2012 Dublin Theatre Festival Announces Program, Set for Sept 27-Oct 14

Today Willie White announced details of his first programme as Artistic Director of the Dublin Theatre Festival. The 55th anniversary Dublin Theatre Festival will run for 18 days from 27 Sept - 14 Oct at various venues around the city. - This year the Dublin Theatre Festival will celebrate 'Your City, Your Stories', putting Dublin at the very heart of this 18 day theatrical spectacular.

Lincoln Center Festival Kicks Off Tonight, 7/5; Full Listings

Nigel Redden, Director of Lincoln Center Festival, announced the Festival's line-up, which runs from tonight, July 5 through August 5, 2012. Theater offerings include Mikhail Baryshnikov in Dmitry Krymov's staging of a new play, In Paris, as well as Sydney Theatre Company's acclaimed production of Uncle Vanya directed by Tamas Ascher and adapted by Andrew Upton. The stellar cast includes John Bell, Cate Blanchett, Hayley McElhinney, Richard Roxburgh, and Hugo Weaving.

CONFIRMED: Al Pacino-Led GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS Revival to Play Schoenfeld Theatre; Opening Set for Nov. 11

As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this week, David Mamet's 1984 play Glengarry Glen Ross is heading back to Broadway, this time starring Al Pacino as leading man, 'Shelly "The Machine" Levene.' Pacino previously played 'Richard Roma' the the 1992 film adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play. Daniel Sullivan is attached to direct the project. The New York Times has confirmed that the show will begin previews on October 16 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater. Opening night is set for November 11.

Jeffry George Named Executive Director of The Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater

The Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater (WHAT) will have a new executive director, Jeffry George, when the season comes alive on the Julie Harris Stage this summer. The announcement was made today by Bruce A. Bierhans, President and CEO of the company.

Signature Theatre Company (Founding Artistic Director James Houghton; Executive Director Erika Mallin), announced today seven productions for its inaugural 2012 season at Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street near 10th Avenue), the company's new Frank Gehry-designed permanent home opening in February 2012. Signature Center will allow the Company to expand its programming, introduce new initiatives, and build audiences. Featuring three intimate theatres, a studio theatre, rehearsal studio and a shared lobby with café and bookstore, Signature Center will be both a theatre community hub and a neighborhood destination.

And now, the Frye Art Museum presents the first U.S. exhibition of the artist's work. With three of Wong's most important installations, Ming Wong: LIFE OF IMITATION is on view January 22 to February 27, 2011.
