Goodman Theatre announces Broadway stars John Dossett and Douglas Sills will join the cast of War Paint, a new musical starring two-time Tony Award winners Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole as Helena Rubinstein and Elizabeth Arden, respectively. Dossett will portray Tommy Lewis, Miss Arden's husband and chief marketing officer, and Sills will portray the ambitious Harry Fleming, Madame Rubinstein's clubby confidante and faithful ally.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley closes its 2015/2016 season with the explosive new dramatic comedy, The Velocity of Autumn. This tender-hearted play by Eric Coble centers on an elderly artist locked in a volatile showdown with her family over where she'll spend her remaining years. In a wry, spirited quest to 'not go gently' into a retirement home, Alexandra barricades herself in her brownstone with enough homemade Molotov cocktails to blow the entire block sky-high as she negotiates the terms of her future with a long-estranged son who has battles of his own. The Velocity of Autumn was declared 'Wickedly funny and wonderfully touching' by Broadway World and 'A tale that could resonate with a broad range of audiences as it touches on a sobering dilemma faced by families every day' by Variety. This production will be directed by Giovanna Sardelli with performances June 1-June 26 (press opening: June 4) at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St., Mountain View. Steppenwolf for Young Adults (SYA) has announced its 2016/17 season: The Burials, a new play by Caitlin Parrish and directed by Erica Weiss; and a world premiere adaptation of Walter Dean Myers's critically acclaimed novel, Monster, adapted by Steppenwolf Artistic Producer Aaron Carter and directed by SYA Artistic Director Hallie Gordon. SYA's 2016/17 season explores the question, When we stick to our guns, who pays the price?

?WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced casting and creative team details for the regional premiere of Dan LeFranc's The Big Meal, directed by Emily Scott Banks.   The ensemble cast features John S. Davies, Lois Sonnier Hart, Jakie Cabe, Sherry Hopkins, Garret Storms, Kia Boyer, Alex Duva and Kennedy Waterman.  Making their WaterTower Theatre debuts will be Jakie Cabe, Alex Duva, Lois Sonnier Hart and Kennedy Waterman.

This uproarious new 'translaptation' of a classic French farce, Alexis Piron's La Metromanie, will be directed by one of America's most renowned stage directors, Michael Kahn, presented in association with Shakespeare Theatre Company.

The Czech composer, beloved for his “New World” symphony and “Slavonic Dances,” suffuses Rusalka with a melancholy yet achingly beautiful sound that perfectly evokes Rusalka's fantastical realm and her doomed love affair; his lovely folk melodies and luminous arias, including Rusalka's heartbreaking “Song to the Moon,” seamlessly depict the two worlds – mortal and mythical – Rusalka tries, and fails, to bridge. Rusalka stars soprano Kelly Kaduce, who was acclaimed for her first-ever Rusalka with Minnesota Opera in 2008 and has been in demand in the role ever since. Minnesota Opera's vibrant, evocative production has traveled around North America, and Kaduce has frequently been tapped to go with it, performing at Opera Colorado and Opéra de Montréal among other companies.

Arkansas Repertory Theatre announced today the resignation of producing artistic director Robert Hupp. Hupp is currently in his seventeenth season as the leader of Arkansas' largest non-profit theatre company. Hupp's resignation is effective with the conclusion of his current contract which expires at the end of June 2016. At that time, Hupp will assume his new position as artistic director of Syracuse Stage in Syracuse, New York.
