After a sell-out season at the end of 2009 at Sydney Opera House, an 18 month Australia wide tour, a tour of New Zealand and a Helpmann Award for Best Contemporary Australian Concert, THE MAN IN BLACK is back, with Australian rock legend Tex Perkins taking to the stage as Johnny Cash for a strictly limited season at The Playhouse, Sydney Opera House from 10 to 22 April.

Playwrights Theatre Artistic Director Named 2012 Individual Artist Fellowship In Playwriting

The New Jersey State Council on the Arts awarded the 2012 Individual Artist Fellowship grants totaling $182,600 to 22 New Jersey artists selected from more than 300 applicants in the categories of crafts, sculpture, photography, playwriting and poetry. John Pietrowski, Artistic Director for Playwrights Theatre, was named a winner in the playwriting category. The public meeting to announce the awards was held today at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey in Summit.

Once it was found on 52nd Street and before that on 125th, and for many decades its most powerful radio voice has been WKCR-FM on the campus of Columbia University. Just a few yards away, jazz finds an uptown home at Columbia's Miller Theatre. This season, Melissa Smey has programmed groups from the top of her wish list in a Jazz series that begins with the inventive Lionel Loueke Trio and the Renee Rosnes Quartet.
