To launch its 50th anniversary season, The Negro Ensemble Company (NEC) will revisit its very first production, 'Day of Absence' (1966) by Douglas Turner Ward, with an eight-performance run December 4-11 at Theatre 80 St. Marks, 80 St. Mark's Place. The season will include three more productions at Theatre 80 St. Marks and one at La MaMa.

Membership in URTA is a distinction, affirming that a program meets the highest standards in theatre training. Only 40 programs across the nation are members of this elite organization.

Historian George Muschamp to Helm 1776 at Gettysburg Community Theatre

Gettysburg Community Theatre, the non-profit 501c3 organization located in the original Elks Lodge building at 49 York Street within the first block of Lincoln Square in historic downtown Gettysburg, will present 1776 the musical, to celebrate the 240th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration Of Independence. Performances will be held at GCT Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm July 15-31, 2016. GCT only seats 80. Limited Reserved Seating Tickets are $18 plus tax/fees of the Gettysburg Borough Amusement Tax. Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, is pleased to announce the recipients of the latest round of Global Connections. Supported by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Global Connections encourages reciprocity and cultural exchange through two programs: ON the ROAD grants to foster new relationships with international colleagues; and IN the LAB grants to further pre-existing international collaborations. Now in its fifth year, the Global Connections program awarded a total of $70,000 to ten projects in this year's cycle, with over $700,000 awarded to date.
