From September 4-14, 2014, Houston Ballet launches its 45th season with the company premiere of John Neumeier's three-act ballet A Midsummer Night's Dream. The ballet is based on Shakespeare's lighthearted play of the same name and follows the hijinks and hilarity that ensues when a well-intentioned plan with a love potion goes awry. Created in 1977, A Midsummer Night's Dream has served as Mr. Neumeier's calling card, being seen as one of his most joyous and popular creations. Houston Ballet is the first American ballet company to perform the famous work and it is the first piece by Mr. Neumeier to enter the Houston Ballet repertoire.

Mesa Arts Center today announced its 2014-2015 Performing Live Season, which begins with Lyle Lovett & His Large Band on July 24, and includes performances with Tony Bennett, MythBusters, Bill Cosby, Joshua Bell, Evil Dead the Musical, Molly Ringwald, and many more. As featured on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and NPR's "All Things Considered," The Intergalactic Nemesis Book One: "Target Earth" takes to the stage in a new genre: a sci-fi live-action, graphic novel. With an uncanny combination of comic book meets radio serial, mediums converge as three actors, a Foley artist and musician perform all the voices, sound effects and music for more than 1,000 hand-drawn, full-color-and-larger-than-life comic book panels projected on to a screen. The out-of-this-world adventure of The Intergalactic Nemesis Book One: "Target Earth" will run at The New Victory Theater, 209 West 42nd Street from April 5 through 13.

The Eccles Center is poised to launch an adventure in entertainment with a second - and new - installation of The Intergalactic Nemesis. For the uninitiated, this unique, "live-action graphic novel" blends comic book-style drawings (projected onto a giant screen), actors performing radio drama on stage, music, kapow-like sound effects and utter escapism. Book Two: Robot Planet Rising takes audiences into stellar and unchartered terrain on Saturday, February 16. Show is recommended for all ages (including children ages 7 and older). The journey begins at 7: 30 p.m.
