Orpheum Presents THE INTERGALACTIC NEMESIS, 4/1

By:

On Tuesday, April 1 at 6:30 PM, the Orpheum Theatre will present The Intergalactic Nemesis, which brings Jason Neulander's famed graphic novel to life through a visually stunning comic-meets-radio production.

The year is 1933. Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Molly Sloan and her intrepid research assistant Timmy Mendez team up with a mysterious librarian from Flagstaff, Arizona, named Ben Wilcott. Together, they travel from Rumania to Scotland to the Alps to Tunis to the Robot Planet and finally to Imperial Zygon to defeat a terrible threat to the very future of humanity: an invading force of sludge-monsters from outer space known as the Zygonians. This one-of-a-kind theatrical experience mashes up radio drama with comic-books. Three actors, one Foley artist, and one musician perform all the voices and sound effects, while overhead an illustrated outer-space graphic novel unfolds on a GIANT screen. The Intergalactic Nemesis is a spectacle unlike any other, and it's for the kid in everyone.

Patrons are invited to arrive early and take part in pre-show lobby activities in partnership with Chatterbox Audio Theatre (www.chatterboxtheater.org) and Memphis Comic and Fantasy Convention (www.memphiscfc.com). The Intergalactic Nemesis is recommended for ages 8 and up.

Tickets are on sale now and available for purchase online at the official Orpheum Theatre website, www.orpheum-memphis.com, The Orpheum Box Office (901.525.3000), the ticket counter at The Booksellers at Laurelwood, and all Ticketmaster centers (901.743.ARTS). Special group rates are also available by contacting Lindsay Krosnes at 901.529.4244 or krosnes@orpheum-memphis.com.
