 La Jolla Playhouse's world-premiere productions of Come From Away, featuring book, music and lyrics by David Hein and Irene Sankoff and direction by Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley, and Indecent, by Paula Vogel, are both up for multiple Tony Awards this season. The Tony Awards ceremony takes place this Sunday, June 11 at 8:00pm, broadcast on CBS.

Due to unprecedented demand, La Jolla Playhouse announces another extension for its world-premiere musical, Escape to Margaritaville, now scheduled to run through July 9.

Award-winning actor/director Frank Ferrante re-creates his acclaimed New York and London stage portrayal celebrating America's greatest comedian - Groucho Marx.  You will feel as though Groucho is back, as Ferrante sings, dances and performs classic routines on the North Coast Rep stage, June 12 and 13th at 7:30pm.

Native Voices at the Autry, America's leading Native American theatre company, presents its 23rd Annual Festival of New Plays at the Autry Museum of the American West and La Jolla Playhouse. The festival features staged readings of new and in-progress plays by Native writers followed by talkbacks in which each audience member becomes an important part of the collaborative process. These new works explore questions of solidarity and community, spirituality and culture, environment and economic success, and the often contentious relationships that emerge. 

The CAPA Summer Movie Series, the longest-running classic film series in America, celebrates its 47th anniversary in 2017 with an impressive assembly of classics, cult favorites, and beloved films.

The season opens September 29, 2017 with Dallas Divas and the Dallas Winds at Meyerson Symphony Center. Up next, from November 17-19, 2017 is the regional premiere of Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame at The Majestic Theatre in Dallas. The season continues at The Majestic January 19-21, 2018 with the regional premiere of the new musical, Daddy Long Legs and concludes with Frank Loesser's classic Guys and Dolls at The Majestic June 8-10, 2018.

Due to incredible demand, La Jolla Playhouse announces a week-long extension for its world-premiere production of Escape to Margaritaville, now scheduled to run May 9 - June 25. Individual tickets for the show went on sale to the public Sunday, March 26, shattering box office records.

A radical, whose courage and innovation as a performer have too often been obscured by cosy nostalgia, he was the first stand-up to dispense with conventional punchlines and slick patter, instead crafting stumbling, surreal streams of insecurity, based on his sense of inadequacy, disappointment and sheer unsuitability to the very job of being a comedian.
