This summer, Brooklyn-based Spectacle takes over the Theater at MAD as part of the exhibition NYC Makers: The MAD Biennial, presenting 11 unconventional programs that highlight the organization's cross-disciplinary approach and DIY ethos. A unique voice in the wave of micro-cinemas that have emerged in New York City in the past decade, Spectacle was established in 2010 with only 30 seats in its Williamsburg, Brooklyn home, and a staff made up entirely of volunteers.

Cone Composition Institute, a multi-faceted program that promotes new music and emerging composers. SimonSays Entertainment is a production company which develops projects of underrepresented communities for film, television, and live theatre, has joined lead producers Chicago Commercial Collective and Pinckard Production Partners. The show having previously run to rave reviews in Chicago and New York City opened today at the Chopin Theatre in Chicago. The New York Times said the work's "raw and magnetic dementia seems destined to attract a cult following."

The Joffrey Ballet's 2013-14 'Masters of Dance' season comes to a close this spring with the U.S. Premiere of Krzysztof Pastor'sRomeo & Juliet. Pastor, Director of the Polish National Ballet and Resident Choreographer of the Dutch National Ballet, originally created this new version ofRomeo & Juliet in 2008 for the Scottish Ballet. His work has never before been seen in Chicago. Romeo & Juliet runs for 10 performances only at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, 50 East Congress Parkway, today, April 30 - May 11.
