This past Wednesday kicked off the 12th edition of the annual Fall for Dance Festival, which will feature 20 acclaimed dance companies and artists from around the world at the New York City Center. Fall for Dance is a two-week festival that has become a cultural staple here in New York-a commitment to making dance accessible to everyone by providing an opportunity for audiences to enjoy a wide array of artists from around the globe at a affordable price. This year's festival will consist of five unique programs, in addition to several pre-show events which include dance lessons and panel discussions with choreographers, artists, and dance educators.

The Walnut Street Theatre opens its 207th season with Cole Porter's HIGH SOCIETY. This musical transports audiences to an estate in Oyster Bay in the late 1930s where a New York socialite is about to be wed. This grand musical is a show that is highly entertaining for audiences as they watch the plot unfold. The Walnut Street Theatre brings HIGH SOCIETY to life with lots of laughs, dazzling performances and a beautiful score.

The Coral Springs Center for the Arts is launching a star-packed 2015-2016 season next month with an exciting, diverse, audience-wowing array of hit shows, comic legends and musical superstars, according to Kevin Barrett, the Center's General Manager. 

The high quality of productions such as THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, which opened on Friday September 18, is why The Barn Players won the 2014 Broadway World Regional Award for Outstanding Theater of the Year in the Kansas City Region. Kip Simmons directs the musical based on the 1967 film of the same name, starring Julie Andrews. Richard Morris wrote the original story and screenplay for Universal Pictures. CHRYSANTHEMUM, which opened in London in 1956, was the basis for the story and screenplay.

Remarking on the distinction between English drawing room mysteries and America's hard-boiled crime dramas, Raymond Chandler famously wrote that his role model, Dashiell Hammett, “gave murder back to the kind of people that commit it for reasons, not just to provide a corpse.”

'Eric Bentley's Brecht-Eisler Songbook,' the debut CD from soprano actress Karyn Levitt, will be available from Roven Records on October 30.

Earlier in 2015, the final musical from legendary musical creative team John Kander and Fred Ebb opened at the Lyceum Theatre on Broadway. THE VISIT captivated audiences despite its brief run and lack of Tony Award wins. I could tell you that KT Sullivan and Jeff Harnar have done it again, but the truth is that they've done it even better. Their first foray into the Stephen Sondheim songbook last summer, Our Time, consisted of she sings, he sings--each watching the other perform then offering duets. This iteration titled Another Hundred People: Sullivan and Harnar Sing Sondheim—Act II (both at the Laurie Beechman Theatre), beautifully directed by Sondra Lee, considers both characters theatrically, not just vocally, but visually.

Broadway Rose's THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE is a big, flashy Broadway musical with all of the bells and whistles.

The summer of laughs continues at the Drayton Festival Theatre with an uplifting comedy that's sure to keep audiences in stitches with its nostalgic look back at a seemingly simpler time. Canadian playwright Norm Foster delves into the comedic complexities of family dynamics in the 1950s with Hilda's Yard on stage now through July 18th as part of the theatre's acclaimed 25th Anniversary Season.

Ford made his reputation on westerns, but worked in many genres, creating films of depth, beauty, and ambiguity. From today, July 3 through August 2, the Museum will present 20 movies directed by Ford-all on film, with some restored archival prints-including his masterpieces Young Mr. Lincoln, My Darling Clementine, The Searchers, and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.

Bottom line? If you have an opportunity to check out one of the four remaining performances at Wolf Trap this weekend, it is worthwhile to do so.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre will conclude its 48th season with Richard Bean's internationally acclaimed One Man, Two Guvnors, a sassy update of Carlo Goldoni's classic knee-slapper, The Servant of Two Masters. Set in 1963 Brighton, England, One Man, Two Guvnors is a brilliantly delicious mash-up of splendid comedy, British pantomime, and music-hall revues. The uproarious plot features a disarming and doltish Francis Henshall who finds himself trapped by farce into working for two bosses - who are connected in wildly improbable ways. He just has to keep them from discovering each other. Inspired insanity, high-low antics, and nimble wordplay ensue - all backed by live musicians paying homage to rockabilly and a certain Fab Four. Directed by David Ivers - artistic director of the Utah Shakespeare Festival - and with songs by Grant Olding, One Man, Two Guvnors is a riotous blast complete with a colorful cast of characters in a topsy-turvy world of love triangles and mistaken identities. It previews today May 8, 2015, opens today, May 15, 2015, and plays through Sunday June 21, 2015. Press night for One Man, Two Guvnors will be held today, May 15, 2015.
