As 2012 comes to a close, many Austin theater companies are putting together their 2013-2014 season. Given the incredible talent in this town and the large number of daring, courageous theater groups in the Austin area, here are my picks for 13 musicals that I'd love to see produced in the 2013-2014 season.

Tony Award and Emmy Award-Winning and Golden Globe Award-Nominated Actor, Joe Mantegna will serve as Grand Marshal of THE 2012 HOLLYWOOD CHRISTMAS PARADE BENEFITING MARINE TOYS FOR TOTS. The parade will be presented live by The City of Los Angeles and Associated Television International in Hollywood, CA today, November 25, 2012 starting with a PRE-PARADE SHOW SPECTACULAR at 5:30 pm, with the Parade commencing at 6:30 pm.

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced casting details for The Mystery of Irma Vep which will open the 2012-2013 season. The show stars WaterTower Theatre veterans Regan Adair and Bryan T. Donovan.

REBECCA, the new musical based on the classic novel by Daphne du Maurier novel, has found its male and female leads: Jill Paice will play the role of "I" and Ryan Silverman the role of "Maxim de Winter." REBECCA will open on Broadway Sunday, November 18 at The Broadhurst Theatre. Previews will begin Tuesday, October 30.

James William Productions and Stephenie Skyllas will present Kurt Peterson and Victoria Mallory in 'When Everything Was Possible, A Concert (with comments),' for one night only, Sunday April 29th (7:30pm) at New York City Center (131 West 55th Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues), as a benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. They will be joined by a thirteen-piece band (Michael Rafter, Music Director), playing new orchestrations by Tony Award winner Jonathan Tunick. Larry Moss directs, with musical staging by Joshua Bergasse ("Smash"). Carolyn Wong will provide lighting design, with sound design by Leon Rothenberg and projection design by Telegraphicmedia.

Wililam Shatner's SHATNER'S WORLD: WE JUST LIVE IN IT opens today, February 14, and will play through March 4 at the Music Box Theater on Broadway before embarking on a national tour. A statement from the producers said: 'The two-hour show will take audiences on a voyage through Shatner's life and career, from Shakespearean stage actor to internationally known icon and raconteur.'

It's official, Wililam Shatner's SHATNER'S WORLD: WE JUST LIVE IN IT will play from February 14 - March 4 at the Music Box Theater on Broadway, before embarking on a national tour. Michael Riedel reports in today's New York Post that William Shatner is headed to Broadway in early 2012 with a 2-3 week engagement of SHATNER'S WORD: WE JUST LIVE IN IT which will play for 2-3 weeks at the Music Box Theater on Broadway. The show will be a temporary booking at the theatre, which is currently home to PRIVATE LIVES, which just moved up its closing to December 31.

The Actors Fund presents a very special Musical Monday -in the historic lobby of the Pantages Theatre with TONY Award Winner Betty Buckley in 'AH MEN! The Boys of Broadway.' The concert will be held on Monday, December 5th - 8:30pm.

Previews will begin Tuesday, March 27. Sierra Boggess (The Little Mermaid, Love Never Dies, Master Class and as Christine in last month's 25th Anniversary Concert of The Phantom of the Opera in London) will play the lead role of 'I'. Additional casting will be announced in the coming weeks.
