Presenting the first non-musical in the sixteen-plus years of producing dinner theatre, Riverside Center's STEEL MAGNOLIAS has everything it needs to be a hit: a known play, a winning ensemble, and solid direction by well-known actress Sherri Edelen. If we gave out stars, this one deserves them all.

Rehearsals begin today for the Judson Theatre Company production of Robert Harling's perennial comedy favorite, Steel Magnolias, the first show of JTC's 2014 season. The production will run from Thursday, March 27 through Sunday, March 30 at Owens Auditorium at Sandhills Community College, located at 3395 Airport Road in Pinehurst.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced Tony Award winner Rosemary Harris will play the role of 'Eleanor Swan' in the Off-Broadway premiere of Tom Stoppard's Indian Ink, directed by Carey Perloff. The production will begin performances on September 4 and open Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold & Miriam Steinberg Centre for Theatre (111 West 46th Street).

The production continues Wednesdays through Sundays through February 23, with low-priced previews on Wednesday, January 29 at 7 p.m., Thursday, January 30 at 8 p.m. and Friday, January 31 at 8 p.m.

Bonnie & Clyde, a star-studded miniseries for HISTORY and LIFETIME, has begun filming on location in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The four-hour, two-night event miniseries stars Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild) and Holliday Grainger (The Borgias) in the title roles of Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker, the Depression-era Outlaw couple whose criminal exploits have assured them lasting fame for eight decades. Bonnie & Clyde will be simulcast on HISTORY and Lifetime later this year. The announcement was made by Nancy Dubuc, President, Entertainment and Media, A+E Networks.

STEEL MAGNOLIAS Added to Target Presents AFI Night at the Movies in Hollywood

The American Film Institute (AFI) announced today that STEEL MAGNOLIAS has been added to the classic movie lineup of screenings for the special one-night-only event, Target Presents AFI Night at the Movies. 2012 AFI Life Achievement Award recipient and Oscar-winning actress Shirley MacLaine and Oscar-winning actress Sally Field will reunite to co-present the film, which will screen along with 12 other films, on Wednesday April 24 at the ArcLight Hollywood. Adding to this unique night, audience members will join Field and AFI to celebrate MacLaine with a birthday song prior to the screening. Tickets for STEEL MAGNOLIAS go on sale today at 10:00 a.m. (PT).
