Trinity Rep Elects New Board Chair and Trustees

At its Annual Meeting on June 15, 2020, Trinity Repertory Company's Board of Trustees elected new officers and three new trustees for terms beginning July 1. Succeeding Suzanne Magaziner, who served as Chair of the Board since 2014, Louis Giancola, the retired President and CEO of South County Health, was elected to a three-year term as Chair.

Big Bang Improv Returns to Sarasota for Special Residency

Florida Studio Theatre (FST) has announced that Big Bang Improv, a Sarasota Improv Festival favorite, will return to Sarasota the first weekend of January 2020 for a special residency. During their time at FST, the group will perform two improv comedy shows and lead two workshops. Big Bang performances will take place on Friday, January 3 and Saturday, January 4 at 7:30PM in FST's Bowne's Lab Theatre. Tickets are just $15-18 and can be purchased at floridastudiotheatre.org or (941) 366-9000. Improv workshops will be held on January 4 and enrollment is just $35. Jerry Lee Lewis Receives Mississippi Country Music Trail Marker

Music icon Jerry Lee Lewis received a marker on the Mississippi Country Music Trail Thursday afternoon at The Lewis Ranch, his longtime home in Nesbit, Miss. The event was his first public appearance since a minor stroke in March of 2019 and signals a productive 2020 for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member. Watch the presentation here, with an acoustic performance of 'Touching Home' by Marty Stuart with Lewis joining in and singing along.
