From today, June 20 through Saturday, June 27, 2015, instrumentalists from across the country are invited to rehearse and perform side-by-side with BSO musicians and under the direction of Music Director Marin Alsop in an intensive music 'fantasy camp.'

Amazing Sammo Productions opens its 2015 season at Gorilla Tango Theatre, in Bucktown, with its third Sam and Mickey sketch comedy show: Sam & Mickey Are Friends: Community Service. Join veteran Chicago performers Sam Radom & Mickey Bravo once again with puppets, singing, dancing and all around comic mayhem. This time around Sam and Mickey are being audited by the Association of Stage Standards and being forced to be nice to people or be forced to do Community Service in order to keep their theater. A great supporting cast of seasoned comedy and improv actors join them their third madcap adventure.

Marin Alsop leads the BSO in a program of Viennese-inspired favorites, including Ravel's Valses nobles et sentimentales ('Noble and sentimental waltzes') and La Valse ('The Waltz'), Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier ('The Rose Cavalier') Suite, and Haydn's Cello Concerto, performed by Argentinean cellist Sol Gabetta, today, March 20 and tomorrow, March 21 at 8 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and Sunday, March 22 at 3 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore. Minnesota Opera Music Director Michael Christie leads the world premiere performances of The Manchurian Candidate, today, March 7–15, 2015in the Ordway Music Theater. Christie is recognized as “ … a top-notch conductor of new works …” by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Based on the novel by Richard Condon and directed by Kevin Newbury, The Manchurian Candidate traces the mysterious story of an American soldier decorated during the Korean War who is brainwashed into becoming an unwitting assassin in a conspiracy to overthrow the U.S. government. This taut and suspenseful thriller is the highly anticipated second opera by composer Kevin Puts and librettist Mark Campbell, creators of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Silent Night.

One of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra's (BSO) favorite guest conductors, Yan Pascal Tortelier returns to the podium to lead the Orchestra in Stravinsky's The Firebird Suite tonight, February 27 at 8 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and Saturday, February 28 at 8 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore. Also on the program are Berlioz's Le Corsaire overture ('The Pirate'), Ravel's Trio for Piano, Violin and Cello and Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23, performed by pianist Louis Lortie, hailed by many as an authority on the music of Mozart.
