Five Boroughs Music Festival (5BMF) opens its 2018-19 season with a performance by duo Fire & Grace, featuring guitarist William Coulter and violinist Edwin Huizinga. Fire & Grace's programs explore the connective musical elements of classical, folk, and contemporary traditions from around the world, showcased through the duo's own arrangements. Concerts are held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. at An Beal Bocht Café in Riverdale in collaboration with ClassicalCafé, with additional performances on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. atRockwood Music Hall, Stage 3 in Manhattan, and on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Alice Austen House in Staten Island.

Michael Tilson Thomas (MTT) conducts Mahler's Symphony No. 4, Mozart's Exsultate, jubilate, and American Maverick Carl Ruggles's Evocations at Carnegie Hall, Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, in his first performance with The MET Orchestra, Tuesday, June 5 at 8:00 p.m. This will be the first time that The MET Orchestra performs a work by Ruggles. The program's featured soloist is soprano Pretty Yende, who sings in Exsultate, jubilate and the finale of the Mahler symphony.

Goodman Theatre celebrates the lives of "two strong, vibrant women dispensing joy and wisdom" (Chicago Tribune) in a major revival of Emily Mann's Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years. Directed by the Goodman's longtime Resident Director Chuck Smith, the production features Ella Joyce and Marie Thomas as the Delany centenarians, Bessie (1891 - 1995) and Sadie (1889 -1999), respectively. The sisters were discovered in 1991 when Amy Hill Hearth interviewed them for The New York Times. Following the article, the trio co-authored the book, Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years-a New York Times bestseller and heartfelt reflection of their family history and triumphs over prejudices in times of social unrest. Mann adapted it for the stage, first at McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, New Jersey and then to Broadway, where it ran for 317 performances. Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years appears May 5 - June 10, 2018 in the Albert Theatre (opening night is Monday, May 14). NBC Sunday Night Football, America's No. 1 primetime television show for a record seven consecutive years, gets 'Back to Football' broadcasting 19 NFL games during the 2018 regular season. It all begins with the Philadelphia Eagles raising their first-ever Super Bowl banner at NFL Kickoff 2018 on Thursday, Sept. 6 as they host the Atlanta Falcons in a Divisional Playoff rematch. Then it's the season opener of Sunday Night Football at Lambeau Field on Sunday, Sept. 9 as Aaron Rodgers leads the Green Bay Packers in the first game of their historic 100th season against the rival Chicago Bears. NBC Sunday Night Football will have a new, earlier kickoff time of 8:20 p.m. ET - 10 minutes earlier than last year.

American Composers Orchestra continues its commitment to the creation and development of new orchestral music with the announcement of sixteen emerging composers who will participate in its catalytic programs. Six emerging composers will participate in the 27th Annual Underwood New Music Readings on June 21-22, 2018 at a location to be announced. Ten emerging composers receive 2018 EarShot New Music Readings presented by Fort Wayne Philharmonic (February 7, 2018), Charlotte Symphony Orchestra (March 1, 2018), and Jacksonville Symphony (April 20, 2018). EarShot is a partnership between American Composers Orchestra, League of American Orchestras, American Composers Forum, and New Music USA.
