New York City Ballet will open its 2014-15 season at Lincoln Center on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, which will continue through Sunday, June 7 with three repertory seasons - Fall (September 23 through October 19); Winter (January 20 through March 1); and Spring (April 28 through June 7); as well as the Company's annual holiday performances of George Balanchine's The Nutcracker, which will be performed from Friday, November 28, 2014 through Saturday, January 3, 2015.

The schedule for this summer's Lincoln Center Out of Doors festival, which runs from July 20 to August 10, was announced today by Bill Bragin, Lincoln Center's Director of Public Programming. Nearly 100 free performances will take place across the plazas of Lincoln Center during three weeks. A special Memorial Concert for Pete and Toshi Seeger on July 20 will be followed by the official opening concert on July 23 with Larry Harlow's Hommy: A Latin Opera, the landmark work's first performance in 40 years. Game of Thrones actor Owen Teale will star in director Terry Hands' new production of Under Milk Wood, which comes to the Exeter Northcott Theatre this month. The production marks the centenary of Dylan Thomas' birth, as well as the 60th anniversary since Under Milk Wood was first produced in Britain, as a radio play by the BBC, in 1954. A cast of Welsh actors also includes Torchwood actor Kai Owen and Steven Meo (The Fabulous Baker Boys).

Back by popular demand after last year's sold-out performance, We Players (Artistic Director, Ava Roy; Managing Director, Lauren D. Chavez), in partnership with San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, will present a special one-night music concert aboard the tall ship Balclutha on Saturday, July 19, 2014.

A complete delight for all ages, this full-length ballet is based on William Shakespeare's comedy about the romantic adventures, quarrels and reunions of two pairs of mortal lovers and the king and queen of the fairies. Balanchine's Midsummer, which New York City Ballet premiered in 1962, was the first original evening-length ballet he choreographed in America. Staged by PNB Founding Artistic Director Francia Russell, PNB's production is an enchanted landscape where misunderstandings and mayhem weave tangled paths through the opulent layers of Martin Pakledinaz's designs and Balanchine's marvelously crafted partnerings. All ends well in Act II's wedding festivities with the recognition of ideal love, tenderly portrayed in an exquisite pas de deux. The New York Philharmonic will present its 11th season of Summertime Classics, July 2-6, 2014, featuring five themed concerts with Bramwell Tovey, who has been the host and conductor of the series since its founding in 2004. On the first program, July 2-3, 2014, titled "Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, and Friends," the New York Philharmonic will perform Shostakovich's Festive Overture; Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 1, with pianist Joyce Yang as soloist; Musorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain; Rachmaninoff's arrangement of his own Vocalise; and Tchaikovsky's Waltz of the Flowers from The Nutcracker, and Marche slave. The second program, July 4-6, 2014, titled "Star-Spangled Celebration," will feature the New York Philharmonic and United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps - "The Commandant's Own," which is celebrating its 80th-anniversary year - in a program that includes Copland's Clarinet Concerto, with Associate Principal Clarinet Mark Nuccio as soloist, and Fanfare for the Common Man; Gershwin's "Strike Up the Band" from Strike Up the Band; Sousa marches; and more. In these performances Major Brian Dix, director and commanding officer of "The Commandant's Own," will share conducting duties with Bramwell Tovey.
