It's that time of year, and I can't help but wonder if your CD collection and iPod are Tonys ready. This Broadway season has some really interesting contenders in the musical categories, and to get you ready for the big night, I'm recapping the albums you should be listening to (or at the very least pre-ordering).

Aria Entertainment is delighted to announce first casting today for the second annual From Page To Stage Festival, a season of new musical theatre at the Landor Theatre from Monday 10 February to Sunday 9 March 2014. Full casting is now confirmed for the Season's three showcase readings of Merman's Apprentice, Claus The Musical and The Return of the Soldier, as well as the repertory cast for three Showcase Nights of musicals in development. Final casting for the two Headline Musicals Before The Night Is Through and The Mistress Cycle will be announced next week.

Curtains up! AIR TWYLA propels Pacific Northwest Ballet into its new season with a trio of works by its first artist-in-residence, renowned choreographer Twyla Tharp. The program includes the world premiere of Waiting at the Station with a commissioned score by New Orleans music legend Allen Toussaint. Sharing the program with Waiting at the Station are the Scottish-inspired Brief Fling (a PNB premiere) and Tharp's homage to Ol' Blue Eyes and ballroom dance, the unforgettable Nine Sinatra Songs. As Spring makes its way to Seattle, ESP goes to Texas for a typically beautifully-made play by the late, great Horton Foote, author of, among many works, The Trip to Bountiful, and the screenplays of Tender Mercies and To Kill a Mockingbird.

Marian S. Heiskell, chairman of the Board of The New 42nd Street since its founding in 1990, has relinquished her post and been named Honorary Chair, Cora Cahan, President of The New 42nd Street announced today. Ms. Heiskell has been succeeded as Chairman by Fiona Howe Rudin, who joined the Board in 2004, and has served as a Vice Chair since 2008.

Nominations for the 2009 Astaire Awards were announced last night at Elaine?s Restaurant by Michael Riedel of the New York Post. These selections were made by this year?s Nominating Committee; Sylviane Gold (Theater Columnist for Dance Magazine), Anna Kisselgoff (former Chief Dance Critic of The New York Times), Wendy Perron (Editor in Chief of Dance Magazine), Linda Winer (Chief Theater Critic of Newsday) and Damian Woetzel (Former Principal Dancer, New York City Ballet). The producers of the 2009 Astaire Awards, which recognizes excellence in dance on stage and in film, are Patricia Watt and Ron Glucksman.
