'The Goat...' is a dark comedy about Martin, a married architect coming to terms with middle age, his son's sexual identity, and his own recent adulterous relationship with an unlikely partner.

The three-week festival - one of several initiatives launched during Alan Gilbert's first season as Music Director - will offer an in-depth look at Stravinsky, exploring how his Russian roots informed his works. Led by the Russian-born Mr. Gergiev, the festival will feature eight programs over three weeks, including concerts, lectures, pre-concert talks, radio broadcasts, podcasts and an Archives exhibit.

TimeLine Theatre Company, dedicated to presenting plays inspired by history that connect to today's social and political issues, announces its four-play 2008-09 season. All the plays are new to Chicago audiences, including one world premiere and at least two Chicago premieres.

Since I live in New York City, I usually don't take a 'theater vacation'-you know, the eight-shows-a-week type of trip to New York or London. Even when I go to London, theater is just one of the activities on my itinerary. But the last three summers, I have found myself in a summer theater destination and have been appreciating more and more the joy of taking my No. 1 pastime on the road.
