DePaoli is also the author of the non-fiction business titles, "Common Sense Supply Management" (ISBN: 978-1477686454) and "Common Sense Purchasing" (ISBN: 978-1594572500).
"Jayson and the Corporate Argonauts - the Quest for the Golden Fleece of Transformation" is a clever, well-illustrated and brief business fable.
Dr. Tom DePaoli examines the Greek tale of Jason and the Argonauts and their Quest for the Golden Fleece. It delivers simple strategies and axioms for any modern day pursuit of corporate transformation and change. These mythical adventures are used to recommend strategies for contemporary Corporate Argonauts, trying to transform and radically change their own organization.
The author uses the lessons learned from this epic voyage and examines how the Argonauts overcome the perils. He then recommends strategies for modern day Corporate Argonauts trying to radically transform their own organization. He notes that the quest for organizational transformation is a more dangerous than the Greek quest for the Golden Fleece. DePaoli states that most organizations do not have any experience in this dynamic process and often fail. The book remains true to the myth of Jason's journey and the need for organizations to continuously transform.
DePaoli provides practical guidelines learned from his real-life corporate transformations and tested in harsh competitive reality. The emphasis is on the key axioms that can make transformation successful. Since every organization is different, the author concentrates on the high level strategic principles. The reader does not have to be familiar with the Greek tale, but the author does recommend at least becoming acquainted with a summary of the adventures.
Dr. DePaoli makes Jason's adventures relevant to dealing with radical change and organizational transformation. He keeps the methods simple and to the point. He reveals the right methods that can help avoid the many missteps of transformation. The author admits that there were failures in his career, especially when attempting to have people not only accept change, but internalize it. He notes that organizations need both compassion and integrity to succeed. Your Corporate Argonauts should be given the chance to join the crew of the modern Argo and begin their transformation quest.
"Jayson and the Corporate Argonauts" is available in both print and ebook format.
