A public memorial will be held for Ruby Dee, the legendary actress and civil rights activist, who passed away on June 11. The Terrie Williams Agency told NBC that they will be celebrating Dee's life and her many accomplishments on September 20 at the Riverside Church in New York. This is the same place where Martin Luther King Jr. spoke against the Vietnam war and others, such as Nelson Mandela and Cesar Chavez, have spoken.

Earlier this week, legendary actresses of stage and screen, Ruby Dee died at the age of 91. According to sources, the actress was at her home in New Rochelle, NY, surrounded by family members when she passed away.

Signature Theatre has announced that complete casting is confirmed and tickets are now on sale for the World Premiere of Horton Foote's THE OLD FRIENDS, directed by Michael Wilson. All tickets for the initial run of the production are $25 as part of the Signature Ticket Initiative: A Generation of Access. The Hollywood Reporter has reveals today that A Streetcar Named Desire will get a Broadway revival in the spring of 2012, directed by Emily Mann and starring The Event's Blair Underwood as Stanley Kowalski. The production will be presented on Broadway by Front Row Productions.
