Yoshi's San Francisco has announced newly-added shows fro March, April and June 2013, featuring Jeff Bradshaw, The Family Stone, DJ Afrika Bambaata, The Tubes feat. Fee Waybill, Dawn Richard, Freddie Jackson, Boca Do Rio, Marcus Johnson, Portland Cello Project Play Beck, Brubeck & Bach, Pharoah Sanders, Renaud Garcia-Fons, Dan Hicks and The Hot Licks and Catherine Russell. Mark Rylance, Jim Lichtscheidl, and More Set for NICE FISH at Guthrie Theatre

The Guthrie Theater today announced complete casting for its world premiere of Nice Fish by Mark Rylance and Louis Jenkins, dedicated to Nataasha van Kampen and James Hillman. The production will be directed by Rylance and Claire van Kampen (who also contributes original music) and will feature Rylance as Ron as well as actors Jim Lichtscheidl (Guthrie: Arms and the Man, The 39 Steps) as Eric, Emily Swallow (Guthrie: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, A Midsummer Night's Dream; Television: the upcoming TNT series "Monday Mornings") as Flo and Chris Carlson (Guthrie: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, God of Carnage) as Wayne in a humorous and mythic story based on Jenkins' prose poetry and taking place on the frozen waters of the Upper Midwest on the last day of ice fishing season. Nice Fish also features Bob Davis (Guthrie: Tales from Hollywood, Arsenic and Old Lace) as DNR Officer and Tyson Forbes (Guthrie: Peer Gynt, 1776) as Wainwright.

La Jolla Playhouse announces a new play development initiative, the DNA New Work Series, entailing a six-week period of workshop productions and public readings of new plays and musicals, taking place today, January 24 through March 3, 2013. The focus of the DNA New Work Series is to allow playwrights and directors the opportunity to develop a script by providing rehearsal time, space and resources, culminating in a workshop production or public reading.

On last night's part one of THE X FACTOR season finale, Carly Rose Sonenclar pulled out all the stops to prove she has what it takes to land the $5 million record deal. It was another rollercoaster of a show last night as the six remaining acts became the final four on THE X FACTOR. Unfortunately for CeCe Frey, the competition came to an end at the top of the show. Following that news, it was announced that Emblem3, Carly Rose Sonenclar and Tate Stevens were safe and therefore immediately advanced to next week's Semi-Finals.
