The Metropolitan Museum of Art today unveiled the 2012-13 season of Met Museum Presents, its newly-renamed series of performances and talks. This is the first full season to be programmed by Concerts & Lectures General Manager Limor Tomer, who assumed her post at the Met in July 2011. The program offers interpretations of and reflections on the Museum's collection, special exhibitions, and tradition through the work of some of today's most celebrated composers and performing artists.

Luna Negra Dance Theater continues its season this spring with a World Premiere by Artistic Director Gustavo Ramirez Sansano titled CARMEN.maquia, a Picasso-inspired, contemporary take on the famous, fiery and flirtatious Spanish gypsy, Carmen. This work marks Luna Negra's first-ever full evening-length production and is a creative collaboration between three prize-winning artists: choreographer Sansano, Spanish fashion designer David Delfin and set designer Luis Crespo. Luna Negra presents CARMEN.maquia in one performance only at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, 205 E. Randolph Drive, Saturday, March 24 at 8 pm.

On Sunday, March 11, as part of the Fukushima anniversary initiative Shinsai: Theaters for Japan, Scandinavian American Theater Company and Ping Chong & Company will co-present a reading of a play written in response to the disaster: Swedish playwright Jacob Hirdwall's Emperor Fukushima. The reading will take place at 7:00 P.M. at La MaMa (47 Great Jones Street). Admission requires a $10 donation at the door; the Japan Playwrights Association will disburse proceeds to the Japanese theater community affected by the disaster.

The Directors of Marlborough Gallery are pleased to announce an exhibition by Red Grooms on the theme of New York. The exhibition will comprise sculptures, installation pieces, and paintings spanning the years 1976 to 2011. The show will open September 21 with a reception from 6:00-8:00 PM and will continue through October 22, 2011. Since his first exhibition at Marlborough in 1976, titled Ruckus Manhattan, Grooms has staked his claim as one of America's most original, inventive, and popular artists.
