HAMILTON's Lin-Manuel Miranda Donates to The Sol Project for ALLIGATOR

The Sol Project, the new New York-based theater collective raising visibility for Latinx playwrights, has received funding to support the initiative's first production, Hilary Bettis's Alligator, directed by Elena Araoz, presented in collaboration with New Georges at the Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theatre at A.R.T./New York Theatres, November 27-December 18, 2016.

Q2 Music to Broadcast 2016 NJSO Edward T. Cone Composition Institute Concert

WQXR's online new-music station Q2 Music will broadcast the 2016 NJSO Edward T. Cone Composition Institute concert, "Scores: New Orchestral Works," on Tuesday, October 18, at 9 pm. The program-a live NJSO performance under the baton of David Robertson, recorded on July 16 at the Richardson Auditorium in Princeton-features new works by the four composers of the 2016 NJSO Edward T. Cone Composition Institute, as well as a work from Institute Director Steven Mackey.The broadcast, which will include interviews with the Institute composers, will become available for on-demand listening in the archives at www.q2music.org.

New High Holy Day Guests Announced for Yom Kippur Services at Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts

Rabbi David Baron of the Beverly Hills Temple of the Arts at the Saban Theatre has announced several additional High Holy Day Guests for Kol Nidre (the Eve of Yom Kippur) on Tuesday,  October 11th and for Yom Kippur on Wednesday, October 12th.  Evelyn Markus, the daughter of Jewish Dutch Holocaust survivors will talk about her Dutch non-profit organization called "Network on Antisemitism," and her new documentary film, "Never Again Is Now."  Some excerpts from the film will be screened as well.

Write Act Repertory's Producing Artistic Director John Lant has announced the East Coast premiere of PILLARS OF NEW YORK, a new musical with book, lyrics and music by Michael Antin, and directed by Jim Blanchette will close as scheduled on Wednesday, September 7th.
