American Stage Theatre Company announces the second play of our 2012-2013 Summer Series on our Mainstage: MY NAME IS ASHER LEV a new play by Aaron Posner, adapted from the best-selling novel by Chaim Potok. This production is an area premiere and winner of the 2013 Outer Critics Circle Award for 'Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play'. Previews July 17 & 18. Opening Night is July 19 and the production runs through August 25.

Winner of the Tony and Olivier Awards, Brian Friel's finely-etched memory play Dancing at Lughnasa will conclude Palm Beach Dramamworks' 2012-2013 season, with performances beginning on Friday, May 24 (8PM) at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre (201 Clematis Street). The touching story of five adult sisters will play a strictly limited engagement through June 16, with specially priced preview performances slated for tonight, May 22 & 23.

Alfred I. du Pont founded the earliest ancestor of the Delaware Symphony Orchestra (DSO) in the early 19th century. Its name was originally the Tankopanikum Orchestra, which is translated from Native American as “the rushing waters of the Brandywine River”. The ensemble was comprised of a small group of local amateur musicians who were employed as mill workers, doctors, and laborers. Thanks to du Pont's dedication, local interest in music performance was strengthened immensely in a short period of time.

Warner Bros. announced today that the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz will be fully restored and converted into 3D, as a part of the studio's 90th Anniversary celebration next year. The film is currently being restored and will be released on Blu-ray 3D in either September or October of next year.
