BroadwayWorld Presents The 2009 Tony Award Honorees For Non-Competitive Categories

On Monday, May 5, the Tony Administration Committee revealed the names of a quartet of honorees who are to be recognized in the four non-competitive Tony categories. Composer/lyricist Jerry Herman, Virginia's Signature Theatre, and longtime press agent Shirley Herz will be honored at the 63rd annual Tony Awards ceremony on June 7. Actress/writer Phyllis Newman will receive the newest Tony Award for her volunteer work as an advocate for women's health.

Village Theatre Kidstage is proud to announce its spring line-up of exploratory and musical theatre classes, along with Spring Break camps for students of all ages. Some of these classes include ?Story Explorers? for children as young as Pre-K, a wide variety of dance classes?including yoga ballet and tap?and a ?Broadway Foundations? class that focuses its work around the music in the hit new musical Wicked. BroadwayWorld has learned the complete cast details of Paper Mill Playhouse's up-coming production of Steel Magnolias, to begin at their Millburn Theatre on Wednesday, March 5; officially opening Sunday March 9 at 7:30PM with performances through April 6. The cast of Steel Magnolias will star Kelly Bishop as Clairee, Charlotte Booker as Truvy, Beth Fowler as Ouiser, Monique Fowler as M'Lynn, Kelly Sullivan as Shelby and Kate Wetherhead as Annelle.
