The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the lineup for this year's edition of Latinbeat, today, July 12-21. Opening Night launches with LA PAZ by prolific Argentinian filmmaker, Santiago Loza, who has showcased his work at the festival since 2000, and is also an influential playwright in the indie theater scene of Buenos Aires. This year's lineup also includes the previously announced retrospective of filmmaker, Matias Piñeiro, who will screen his films THE STOLEN MAN and THEY ALL LIE during the festival while simultaneously theatrically opening VIOLA and ROSALINDA at the Film Society of Lincoln Center tonight, July 12th.

The New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, in conjunction with Causey Contemporary, has announced Alan Binstock's public art exhibition in Ft. Tryon Park in northern Manhattan. The exhibition includes three sculptures-Wayfinder, located across from the New Leaf Cafe, and Third Portal and Trance Ender, found along the Stan Michels Promenade. Made of resin, shattered tempered glass and steel, all three pieces appear to be tools offering direction or pathways to discovery and (inner) navigation.

The Actors Training Center Repertory Company,1122 Central Ave., will present the riveting 1960s rock musical HAIR in a limited engagement starting on Friday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m. with the press performance on Saturday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. and a special benefit performance on Sunday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m. The production is directed by Jeff Award winner Janet Louer, Artistic Director of The ATC Repertory Company. The Sunday benefit performance will feature a wine and cheese reception starting at 6:30 p.m. and a post-show talkback moderated by Louer that addresses the significance of HAIR and the impact of the hippie movement on American culture.
