Days before F. Scott Fitzgerald's iconic novel, The Great Gatsby, is slated to make its triumphant return to the silver screen, Liberty Hall Museum has announced it will kick off its summer season with a stylish Prohibition-era speakeasy.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) today announced that together with its owner and developer partners, it has invested more than $400 million to revitalize its New York City portfolio of hotels. Newly renovated properties include the Sheraton brand's flagship hotel - Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel, W New York - Times Square, W New York - Union Square, W New York, The Westin New York at Times Square and The Westin New York Grand Central. Starwood has also enhanced its New York City portfolio with the addition of several new properties in the past three years including The Chatwal, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Sheraton Tribeca New York Hotel, and W New York - Downtown. All nine of Starwood's distinctive global brands are represented in New York City, where the company boasts a total portfolio of 21 hotels.

Adding to the previously announced, star-studded roster of talent performing at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, Pitbull, Christina Aguilera, Selena Gomez, The Band Perry, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Kacey Musgraves are also slated to grace the stage.

The Department of Theater & Dance at UCSB continues its 2012-2013 season of drama and dance with the production of A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams, directed by Irwin Appel. A Streetcar Named Desire performs May 10 - 19, 2013 in the A Streetcar Named Desire performs in the Performing Arts Theater on the UCSB campus, with a preview on May 9, 2013.

The New York Philharmonic will present A Dancer's Dream: Two Works by Stravinsky, a multidisciplinary, theatrical reimagining of the ballets The Fairy's Kiss and Petrushka, created by Giants Are Small. Sara Mearns, New York City Ballet principal dancer, will star in the production, which will be conducted by Music Director Alan Gilbert, directed and designed by Doug Fitch, choreographed by Karole Armitage, and produced by Edouard Getaz - Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, June 28 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, June 29 at 8:00 p.m.

North Coast Repertory Theatre presents a San Diego premiere of The Underpants, adapted by Steve Martin and written by Carl Sternheim. The show begins previews tonight, September 5th through 7th and continues September 8 through 30, 2012.

Southwark Playhouse presents a major revival of the Jerry Herman/Michael Stewart Hollywood musical, Mack and Mabel, starring Norman Bowman as Mack and Laura Pitt-Pulford (who received rave reviews as Lucille Frank in Parade) as Mabel, directed by Thom Southerland and produced by Danielle Tarento. Leading the cast of "The Secret Garden" at Hale Center Theater Orem is Dallyn Vail Bayles as Archibald Craven. It was 30 years ago this year that "The Color Purple," Alice Walker's novel, was originally published. It won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award for fiction; it went on to be adapted into a film by Steven Spielberg. As a Broadway production-originally produced by Oprah Winfrey and Quincy Jones- the musical ran for two years and was nominated for 11 Tony Awards. The national tour of that Broadway play, "The Color Purple" comes to Three Stages at Folsom College for three performances next month.

Producers Victor Syrmis, Carl Rumbaugh and Susan Batson, along with Culture Project (Allan Buchman, Artistic Director) have announced the World Premiere of In Masks Outrageous and Austere, the final full length play from Tennessee Williams (1911-1983). Directed by David Schweizer, it will begin performances on Thursday, April 5, 2012 with an Opening Night set for Monday, April 16, 2012 at Culture Project. The production is scheduled to play through May 26, 2012.
