Chattanooga Symphony & Opera Announces Resignation of Molly Sasse French

January 7, 2016 - Chattanooga, TN - Molly Sasse French, Executive Director of the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera, has announced her resignation effective January 31, 2016, after being on medical leave since the beginning of November. Sasse French is resigning in order to focus on her health and family. "Molly Sasse French became the Executive of the CSO when its very existence was challenged by changes in funding and by a difficult economy," stated CSO Past Board President, Spencer McCallie. "She brought together an efficient and effective staff, controlled expenses, increased fundraising, and enhanced our musical and educational missions to the community. The CSO Board is grateful for her extraordinary leadership. We also thank her for the pleasure we have had serving with her on the CSO Board."

Boston, MA - The Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP), the nation's premier orchestra dedicated exclusively to commissioning, performing, and recording new orchestral music, opens its 20th anniversary season with Resilient Voices: 1915-­2015, a concert commemorating the centennial of the Armenian genocide, in collaboration with Friends of Armenian Culture Society. The program includes 20th century works by Komitas/Aslamazyan, Alan Hovhaness, and Dmitri Shostakovich, as well as the Boston premiere of Tigran Mansurian's 2009 Requiem. Joining BMOP on the Jordan Hall stage are guests artists Nareh Arghamanyan (piano), Terry Everon (trumpet), the Harvard-­Radcliffe Collegium Musicum, and Boston University's Marsh Chapel Choir.
