Pacific Symphony's newest recording of a three-part oratorio crafted by one of the most sought-after composers of his generation, Richard Danielpour, is set to be released by Naxos today, March 25.

Celebrating its 35th anniversary, the Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival will present a concert open to the public for the first time in New York on Tuesday evening, April 8, 2014 at 7:45 p.m. at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music, Cary Hall, 450 West 37th Street, between Ninth and Tenth Avenues. A special orchestra-the Cape Cod Gala Orchestra, conducted by Liam Burke-has been assembled for this occasion. Noted WQXR radio announcer Jeff Spurgeon will host the evening and Nancy B. Barry, First President of the Festival, as well as Honorary Artistic Chair Charles Hamlen, V.P. of Orchestra of St. Luke's and Co-Founder of IMG Artists, will be on hand for the event.

Following on from the successful run of Opera Naked at the St. James Studio last year, Unexpected Opera presents a new series - Opera Naked the chat show - a series of zesty operatic cabaret shows, spiked with comedy.

Written for the Persian holiday of Nowruz in 2012, "Toward a Season a Peace" was premiered by Pacific Symphony, conducted by Music Director Carl St.Clair, in the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in Orange County, Calif. The work features Pacific Chorale (Artistic Director John Alexander) and Grammy-winning soprano Hila Plitmann. By weaving together sacred passages with texts by the great Sufi poet Rumi, Danielpour explores violence and war in the name of religion, using the season of spring as a metaphor for change and transformation. The work was commissioned for the Symphony's 2012 American Composers Festival, "Nowruz-Celebrating Spring," presented in collaboration with the Farhang Foundation.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced that following strong reviews, the world premiere of Ode to Joy, written and directed by Craig Lucas, will extend three weeks through Saturday, April 19 at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street.

The Pasadena Symphony celebrates the most famous four notes in all of Classical music. Relentless, emotional, triumphant and victorious; all describe Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 which will be performed on Saturday March 29, 2014 at Ambassador Auditorium with matinee and evening performances at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

On Saturday, April 5 at 9:30 p.m. in Zankel Hall, guitarist Romero Lubambo, bassist Nilson Matta, and drummer Duduka da Fonseca-the three renowned Brazilian musicians that make up Trio da Paz-perform a program featuring the works of famed Brazilian composer Antonio Carlos Jobim and celebrated American tenor saxophonist Stan Getz. The trio, known for its innovative take on Brazilian jazz, is joined for this program by tenor saxophonist Harry Allen, vibraphonist Joe Locke, and vocalist Maucha Adnet. This concert is presented by Carnegie Hall in partnership with Absolutely Live Entertainment LLC.

Playwrights Horizons presents the New York premiere production of STAGE KISS, a new play marking the eagerly-awaited return of two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Sarah Ruhl (Dead Man's Cell Phone at PH; The Clean House, In the Next Room...) to the theater company. Directed by Rebecca Taichman (Milk Like Sugar at PH; the current Marie Antoinette, Orlando, The Scene, Luck of the Irish), the production begins previews this evening, February 7 at 8PM with an Opening Night set for Sunday, March 2 at 7PM. The limited engagement will play through Sunday evening, March 23 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

SASHA DE SOLA, soloist of the San Francisco Ballet, and TIIT HELIMETS, principal dancer of the San Francisco Ballet, will appear as guest artists in a collaborative performance co-presented by the Allen Civic Ballet and the Allen Philharmonic. Ms. De Sola and Mr. Helimets will dance the Grand Pas de Deux in The Sleeping Beauty Act III in collaboration with the Allen Civic Ballet and the performance will be accompanied by the Allen Philharmonic at the Performing Arts Center at Allen High School in Allen, Texas on May 17, 2014.

Chicago Opera Theater will dive into the pool again for a remount of its highly successful production of Ricky Ian Gordon's Orpheus & Euridice in partnership with the Chicago Park District in collaboration with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events as part of the Classics in the Parks series. Following the sold-out run of four performances at the Eckhart Park Pool in the West Town neighborhood in early November, COT will bring three additional performances to Lincoln Square on December 19, 20, and 22 at the Welles Park Pool. Tickets will once again be free to the public.
