Director, actor, playwright, and professor Jack Sydow has died, Variety reports. Sydow died on May 28 in Los Angeles, at the age of eighty-eight.

Previews will begin today at Virginia's Signature Theatre for the world premiere musical Sycamore Trees written by Ricky Ian Gordon, the award-winning composer of the opera The Grapes of Wrath and the musicals Dream True and My Life with Albertine. KVPAC's ONCE UPON A MATTRESS is Directed by Gregory Magyar, Choreographed and Assistant Directed by Adam Turner and Lisa Burt. The cast start KVPAC's Senior Company. Set Design by Warren Cochran, and costumes are graciously on loan from Seven Lakes High School. Musical director, Adam Stout adds live music to the production--a first for the KVPAC Company!
